How I long for the days when the olympics were about SPORT-not all this other tedious rubbish x

I would rather watch 12hrs of olympic water polo than the opening ceremony-at least its sport xx

I couldn't agree more, apart from maybe the water polo.

I love the olympics and I will watch the opening ceremony and hope its as good as I expect it to be!
I have to disagree with Nicky on this one - the country will benefit from the games financially and gain a huge sporting legacy afterwards so Im happy to sit through an opening celebration for a couple of hours if it means the UK has a couple of weeks of feelgood factor and sporting success

I can't long for those days because I don't recall an Olympics without an opening ceremony.

And as everyone knows, Beijing's production was stunning. London's will be... a topic for much conversation either way tonight.

Everything leading up to today has been great for and appreciated by communities all over the land as far as I can tell.

even if there's an ounce of seriousness in this interest in Eurovision, no way would "the authorities" select them. Oasis offered All Around The World as an entry prior to it appearing on Be Here Now, and they were deemed "unsuitable representatives". the mind boggles at how they would react to the Manics
