I like the composition and colour of the cover, though would've been nice for something or someone a bit more interesting on the front. Got the SATT reference too.

Fittingly, I went to the Big Pit once on a secondary school trip in February 1999, and You Stole the Sun played on the radio just as we were leaving school, sung along to by a number of kids who all almost certainly never became fans of the band.

Agres, Greatest Hits are a great way to make the band some money, even more so if they do gigs to promote

even if they only do a one off show in cardiff or london, they should do something (wishful thinking!)

You could be forgiven for thinking they have already promoted it on the last couple of tours.

At least the acoustic version of Faster isn't involved this time.

Yeah, why would I want to hear them play 'Sleepflower', 'My Little Empire', 'Solitude Sometimes Is', 'Suicide Alley', 'Enola/Alone', 'Me and Steven Hawking', 'Jackie Collins', 'Peeled Apples', 'Small Black Flowers', 'Strip It Down', 'This Is Yesterday', 'Donkeys', 'Yes', 'Of Walking Abortion', 'Marlon JD', 'No Surface All Feeling' on another tour made up solely of singles?

Incidentally I do love Manics fans. 10 years ago when the FD compilation came out people on here were moaning a) about being ripped off because they had to buy the album for exclusive new material when they'd already bought 90% of the tracks and b) for not including all the singles.

Now they're releasing a singles collection that a) doesn't feature new material (except a cover which presumably will be available as a stand-alone single) and b) features all the singles...and people are *still* moaning now that they've got what they wanted.

It's like when people moaned that the set lists weren't being changed enough and that not enough of 'Postcards' was being played, only to moan even louder when they announced they were adding some fresher songs and 'A Billion Balconies' to the Brixton set list because they personally weren't going to that gig.

They played a full band version on the radio months ago.

Didn't they once threaten to use sand paper for a cover? About time they delivered the goods.

Yeah, that's high hopes right there. Least we can say "Love's Sweet Exile" and "Revol" are on a compilation album.
