It sounds promising but the last few albums always do until you hear them. However, if the band are feeling inspired by Berlin and it's surroundings then we may hear something stunning. I've got a a huge love for "Low" & "Lodger" by Bowie but I don't know if the Manics can pull that kind of thing off. I just hope we have great lyrics free of repetition and something altogether sonically different than Postcards and Tigers as those are two albums that only, IMHO, have 3-4 great tracks on each and the rest feels like filler.

Exhibit A Exhibit B Exhibit C ^ These all have a clear Low/Heroes/Lodger kinda vibe to them. If the band can channel this into some solid, non-repetitive lyrics then we'll be on to a winner.

I think most importantly they're out of their usual comfort zone and using others for inspiration. They're in a position to be lazy, stay at home and carry on where they left off. They've chosen not to, which can only be good.
No more Hazleton Avenue.

That. Although the 'not going into too many dark corners which people won't understand' comment is concerning me somewhat. Trying not to let that overshadow everything else they've said, which is much more promising.

Sounds promising and epic! Just hope "dash of video games" doesn't mean Lana Del Rey-inspired because I don't know how that would sound haha
