Hazkleton is a good song, but wouldn't work as a single. Let's face it, despite rumours of Postcards being a 3rd single, there won't be anymore as whatever is released would do worse than SKON just has and would be more of a blow for the band.
now we're playing the* what if/ if only* game and it'll run and run. We're still lamenting the fact that 1985 was never a single

If an argument breaks out and security step in, it's me arguing with James about Glasnost!

I'll just be pretending to be a member of Blaggers ITA to confuse James as he says 'we kicked you off a tour didn't we?'

Ah well. Fuck it. They're bound to do a spring tour. Just have an EP of leftovers out to coincide with that, put together a tolerable setlist and we're away. Then a handful of festivals, and a loooong rest. Bosh.

That should happen, but it never will.

At my first Manics gig, James had to tell me and my friend to stop shouting for songs and be patient

lol'ing hard @ the manics. very happy to see this campaign end in this sort of failure. it's exactly what they deserve, and i hope they take this lesson onboard for the future. we, the record buying public, don't want a band that reaches out with "one last shot at mass communication". we don't want piss-weak pop songs with nothing lyrics and the same lines repeated over and over. we don't want unoriginality to the point of plagiarism.

the manics have shown us nothing but contempt at every point during this campaign. "pointless jobs just lead to pointless lives", the blatant exploitation of the ocd hardcore fans with the editions and the shoebox, the fifty quid music videos, the 8 line lyrics, the ripped-off riffs, the utterly predictable setlists, the vinyl-only bsides, etc. they've given us shit, and expected us to suck it up. we didn't. they brought this failure entirely on themselves. the manics are a band more than capable of producing amazing music and lyrics, but for this campaign, it seems they just couldn't be bothered putting the graft in. you know, Faster had some fifty rewrites before it was deemed complete. i doubt there was even that much effot put into all of Postcards combined. it's just bad. it's embarassing to be a fan right now.
