Yeh me too. Guess it keeps James on his toes though and he has had a lot to do with the lyrics so maybe he's ok with things.

I had to unsubscribe from that twitter feed, cause the tweets were getting quite embarrassing. Like a 13 year old's attempt at poetry. Sorry.

Why is it a big deal if crap tweets appear on your computer screen? You're the first Twitter purist I've heard of if everyone you follow has genuine quality tweets. Do you honestly sit there thinking 'That was a real quality tweet for my fine collection'?

Yes. I only subscribe to 5 feeds though, so it was taking up a significant portion of my twitter page.

Why wouldn't you weed out all the shite ones? If they were tweeting anything interesting I'd follow them; they're not, so I don't.

I mean it's a bit like choosing to browse a website you hate every day just.. because. You can choose who you follow depending on what you're interested in reading so why wouldn't you?

The speculation resulting from these is embarrassing. Even by manics fan standards. Try looking out the window every now and then.

Very true Alan! Haven't really been following these Tweets so I've no idea if it's a reference to actual lyrics or whatever. I'm waiting for the album!

I tried that once, I saw Sean's face in the clouds, a young man putting postcards through my door, and all conversation with passers by lasted less than 180 letters, or else they trailed off into nothingness.

I don't agree. There's no more speculation about these than any other breadcrumbs dropped in interviews etc, and these are straight from the horse's mouth. In the absence of any real info I don't see what's so tragic about trying to interpret the cryptic stuff they've been giving out. If they are lyrics god knows people have analysed them in more detail than these.

They are just lyrics?
People's excitement has caused them to be over critical, we are just fans we don't own them.
Maybe his embarrasing lyrics are the reason he is one of the best lyricists of our generation.
Like somebody mentioned earlier on in the thread I'm waiting until the record drops and try not to review something that hasn't happened yet.

How does that work, exactly?

Analysing the lyrics is only unimportant if you care more about the music than the lyrics. Which I don't.

For me the music always slightly wins but everyone's different!

Alot of Nicky's lyrics don't read very well, but they go great to music. I wasn't commenting on how good the album's gonna be or anything. Just that they don't work in the context of a twitter feed. Therefore I unsubscribed. Not a big deal at all.

Often they jar horribly to music. I'm guessing the reference to Godfather 3 will too.

Loving this concept it's impossible to take issue with lyrics if they're not in a musical context. Why? Isn't that like saying you don't care if it's meaningless twaddle if it has a good tune? Personally I want lyrics which have meaning as well as being the vehicle for a vocal melody.

Is that question to me? If so, could you build that straw man a little bigger please, I can still see my original post...
