Should those posts not go under the The Official Oh My God I Heard The Manics on Telly/Radio thread then? It seems okay to 'spam the board' if you are posting positive comments about the Manics, but if you are disillusioned about something it has to be posted under a generic thread discussion about the new album.

Those things are newsworthy items, created to inform people, not just to share an opinion. I think, ideally, there could be less positive threads also, stuff could be posted in other threads, but surely you can see that someone regularly making new negative threads about the band whose board it is will obviously cause some animosity amongst the most passionate fans. It's akin to going onto a religious forum and creating threads like 'Is anyone else bored with God?', because to some people, music brings them the same comfort that religion brings to others.

I digressed a little there. It might be a clumsy comparison but I think it's relevant.

And really, if it was a new topic about a new thing to moan about the band it'd be cool and stuff but it's the exact same bloody thing appearing under a new title every 3-4 days.

the radio show threads are relevant..how can they not be? People want to discuss what they've just heard. If you put it in the telly/radio thread with all the chatter people would even miss the links to the show

Plus the big telly/radio thread is more about spotting a song being played somewhere rather than a brand new interview / live session announcement.

I'm not bored. We get to see Anna Friel in a Manics vid this week, right? I've never been more excited!

Like others have said of this vid, I hope it's like the recent lengthy Lady Gaga ones - and Anna's not actually in it while the song is playing so I can skip that.

They are relevant. But so are threads if someone has a negative feeling that they want to express. The negative ones are hardly crowding out all the positives. There needs to be some kind of variation to stop the forum becoming a stale Manics lovefest.

You are completely wrong on that point.

The first thread was inspired by the Hammersmith shambles.
The second by Wires shite. the crap new tunes but still believing in JDB.
The third by the super duper deluxe edition rip off.
And the fourth by the radio interviews going over the same crap and focusing on the hits rather than the new album.

Thats not going over the same stuff and every point I make it not a moan but a point on how I feel the band are coming across.

Typical of bloggers to be more concerned with what they write than actually reading other peoples posts.

I am looking forward to the vid as well. Ive been watching a lot of MTV Europe (which shows mostly videos rather than those Hills programmes) as Im on hols and you miss the art form of the video it has to be said.

i love how people spam, complaining about a thread that is also spam

Spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam and spam

Why dont we just have 2 threads in the forum? One for positive comments, one for negative.
That way everyone wouldn't have to listen to differing opinions.

I'm not bored with them, although I definitely go through phases with the band and how "intense" of a fan I am, so I guess I can understand where these threads is coming from. Lifeblood was a rough era for me, but I'm really, really excited about the new album.
