I'm still listening to it a few times a week and my favourite tracks a little more often.
That's pretty good considering I was listening to it a dozen times a day right through September and October. You'd think I'd have sickened myself of it, but no, I still completely adore it.

I'll be completely honest but ever since the release of SATT (ignoring JFPL as that was fucking ace) I have been clenching my teeth with each release.

I don't know why I've stopped listening to it because it is a great album but I guess it depresses me a little

I'm listening to it right now! I do really love it! (but then you knew that already!)

I love the album and this sullen welsh heart, 4 lonely roads and Rewind the film are my favourite tracks on it. Bring on the next lot of guest singers

I was prompted by this thead to listen again and I did enjoy it, despite feeling it's 'not really my thing'. I do prefer it to SATT, and am actually probably more likely to listen to it in years hence than Postcards.

Same really. I'm still glad they put it out and I can see it getting listens every now and then, but even stuff I love by them like Lifeblood and THB only get an occasional spin nowadays. It's more that I don't listen to them than I specifically don't listen to RTF.

Here's my track preference, now I'm in a position to properly assess the album.
1. 30 Year War - loved it from the start, still love it. 2. This Sullen Welsh Heart - lovely opening track. I've overlistened to it mind. 3. Running Out Of Fantasy - brilliant, delicate, another JDB acoustic classic. 4. Anthem For A Lost Cause - thought it sounded like a nursery rhyme at first, but now I really like it. A great middle section. 5. Holy As The Soil - Possibly my favourite Nicky vocal, except for WLW. 6. Builder Of Routines - it just keeps in my head, particularly the 'middle age' lyric (even though I'm not!) 7. 3 Ways To See Despair - really good, though I've gone off it a little. Sludge rock indeed, as Nicky said. 8.Show Me The Wonder - Good but not outstanding. That 3rd verse though sounds brilliant 9. Rewind The Film - I like it, don't listen to it often, but I like it. 10. Manorbier - interesting, but not enough for repeated listens 11. Toyko Skyline - just a little bit dull. 12. 4 Lonely Roads - the worst MSP song ever. Maybe it competes with Engage With Your Shadow for that mind. I think I'd give it 7 out of 10. It's still on regular rotation for me.

Rarely ... Usually I listen to Builder Of Routines and Tokyo Skyline. And that's that.

Yes, without a doubt. Their strongest album since KYE for me, even after many listens i don't appreciate it any less. It's so good i sort of don't want them to release Futurology in case it doesn't match up.

It means a great deal to me and marks a very traumatic time in my families life but the album and the show in Glasgow where a bright light for me. Round about the time of the show in Glasgow my 22 year old daughter was r*ped after having her drink spiked at a party. I went to the Manics show with a heavy heart & as soon as they took the stage and played the 1st chord of motorcycle I broke down but through the show I could feel a strength come back to me. I had listened to RTF a lot in the time leading up to the gig and every time I do now I feel that strength in me. It will always be special to me. I'm not a new fan btw but this album and that show will always be special to me.

^ Sorry to hear your family's gone through such an awful thing, Sarge. Thanks for sharing, nice to think the band and the album have given you some comfort.
