I always skip 1985 and go straight to TLORN, its my least fave on the album along with SSI

I don't think 1985 is crap, it's just lifeless with nothing much going for it, "Love of Richard Nixon" is the worse ever single the Manics have released though. "Cardiff Afterlife" would have not been far off.

Wasn't too keen on the title track of this new album at first, it just sounded like a Richard Hawley single with the Manics having a part time job as his backing band, but I've started ignoring that and just judged the song on merit since then.

As for AM, I only heard the singles from their last four albums and although they're not much of a Libertines sound-alike now, it's just the vocals are still the same style which the Libertines brought to the fore and other new bands since have emulated.

Elton John isn't much of a huge seller these days, but I thought ITV giving all that airtime would have done something to his sales. Nice to see The Temperance Movement up there at #9, although it's not a definite it will stay in there, it's going to be top 20 at least. I only seen them 2 years ago as a support band at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, never thought they'd go on to have a top 10/20 album, most support bands I've seen just disappear.
