Really don't see the point in paying over-inflated prices for something signed, when they could be fake anyway. I am only bothered about a signature if it's one I got myself. I realise some people don't have that opportunity, but surely it's meaningless then?

the only signatured item i bought was for 99p, there by the grace of god, still with the hmv sticker on it, so it might have been from an actual signing,.

I agree with this 100%. I'd like to get something signed myself, then I'll not just have a signed CD/whatever, but also the memory of getting it signed, meeting the band, maybe getting a photo with them etc.

Don't buy signed things guys, if you want an autographed item, head back to the stage door after a gig and get it signed yourselves!

the signed stuff off recordstore is ok tho yes? Bit of a pain having to lug vinyl around when you want to stand at the barrier at gigs

I absolutely agree with this but I think that for people from other side of the world like America or Australia buying them on ebay is the easiest and the cheapest (and often the only) way to get something signed. we, in Europe, are lucky having them all the time around us (you, in Britain are luckier )

Like a lot of 35+ mothers, they say they like something, i.e pigs or frogs and for the rest of their lives, all they get for christmas and birthdays is said item in various twee based incarnation. my thing is the manics and my girlfriend for a while now, has been ebaying like a trooper and buying me various manics based things for me, which is nice, i guess

anyway, i haven't included the albums i own, because, we all own the standard albums, so they haven't been included
here is (mostly) my collection

1. at the top is a greatest hits tour program, which is very nice
2. from the left hand side is the single Kevin Carter, which is my favourite single from Everything Must Go
3. below is the ian brown remix of Let Robeson Sing
4. clearly next to that is Why So Sad single, which is in rather good condition
5. above is Design For Life, which contains one of my favourite b-sides Mr Carbohydrate
6. at a curious angle below is If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Next, with a pretty cool Massive Attack Remix
7. below is The Elverlasting, on the insert has a website www.manics.co.uk thinking it may be a secret site or something, it just diverted to http://www.manicstreetpreachers.com/...untry/detected sadly
8. next to that is the promo of Masses Against the Classes
9. above is an other single of If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Next with some nice b-sides
10. awesome manics single Found That Soul is just above
11. next to that is promo of both Faster and P.C.P, i really like this single picture
12. below is design for life again, without the cover, strangely i think my girlfriend was tricked into thinking it was a alternative cover or something
13. underneath is Australia, which of course includes the b-side Take The Skinheads Bowling
14. Everything MUst Go Completes the single collecting from that album
15 finally is Ocean Spray which a song i really hate, but as always with the manics, the ideas behind the songs are usually far more interesting.

I also have a Journal For Plague Lovers tee from the recent tour and a nice poster of the from the Masses against the Classes promotion

How much did the Journal and Everything Live set you back? Hardly seen them around at all. Does the Japanese 2cd have the bonus tracks too? Are there demos of Alien Orders/Invisible Armies and Primitive Painters too?

They had those in Newbury Comics when James did his instore there. They were around $40 - $50 each if I remember rightly.

the Japanese Everything Live and deluxe JFPL were $40 each from CD Japan. Bag Lady, AO/IA and Primitive Painters are all on the main first CD. no demos of the bonus tracks on the second CD.
