Aaaaaaaaaaaaw! The two proud Grandads!

I'm sure I still would have loved She Is Suffering if I had been there, I don't seem to notice whether the sound is iffy.

Hummingbird - a hundred lines for you for being bored during Autumnsong. IT'S NOT ALLOWED!

oh yeah maybe it was for the Masses chorus, that is a bouncy one. It's a little bit hazy... the crowd 'aaaah' was really good too

Nope, if you remember (or have a look at this) the video was simply played too late. A screen flashes up with the letter G and the file name of the video then the video is delayed. This technical glitch happened fora another song too, but I can't remember which at the moment.

Why ever not? He did it at Wolves. A pretty good attempt anyway, obviously gonna be difficult to capture the exact roar of the original recording!

Oh and just remembered about the So Why So Sad video stuff on the back too, loads of footage that I didn't recognise from original video. Anyone know anything about alternate video stuff like that?

Loved the anecdotes about Revol and MASH too, funny stuff.

i noticed the extra stuff in SWSS too, i can only presume it is extra footage taken that was never incliuded in video.

I actually didn't watch the vids that much, quite difficult when you are on the barrier as the screen behind them was so huge and james kind of blocked the view (in a good way of course) but what i did notice that they weren't the full versions of all the vids (except TITD maybe) they were just parts of the vids randomly mixed up

Hmm, it looks like I might have to concede defeat. They must do the intro differently than what I remember. I expect him to come in like he does on the studio version, not immediately after the screechy guitar bit (best technical description I can come up with).

As it stands, I didn't really want to talk to them, confrontationally or not.
I felt a lot of sympathy for you guys, as when you arrived you were just behind us, but then god knows how many people were let in by the girls in front of us at around half 10/11. Luckily we managed to move in front of them all and rather hilariously got called queue jumpers by the very people who had just pushed in! One of them just would not shut up about 5 minutes before doors were about to open and rather dramatically declared she'd rather not go to the gig at all if she didn't get the barrier in front of Nicky. She was threatening to punch people, called a gig regular a bitch for no reason other than that person wanted to get back to their place in the queue and said she was going to write to the CEO of O2 if they didn't let the first line of people in first. I couldn't even be bothered to argue with her, because it was too fucking funny. She might have had more of a valid point if she hadn't contributed to the queue jumping herself.

One guy got kept back a bit by security when they moved us all into those pens, as they'd noticed he'd been working his way forward sneakily throughout the day - which he had been - but it's a bit pointless penalising just one person when there were so many doing it anyway.

I thought she was fine. And it gave James a bit of a break as well.

Also, security were telling some people to move down past existing queues. Might explain some queue jumpers.
That might be true in some cases, but not the main problem group of people being talked about in this thread I don't think, as this was early in the day before security had asked everyone to move anywhere. It was a blatant case of letting all your mates in and bollocks to everyone else.

Ah but then the power-hungry jobsworth security wouldn't have the pleasure of being really shit imitation Sherlock Holmes' and trying to deduce whether the possessions in people's bags really, truly belong to that person or if they were in fact stolen. Who know music venue security had the same powers as the police?! Oh wait...

They'll be getting one from me that's for sure, and a letter copied in to as many departments as I can find for the O2/AEG.

I guess you got lucky then, as I managed to encounter three arsehole security people within the space of about 5 minutes. Also, during the day when we were queuing, one of them told James (MSPKYE) off for having his hood up whilst walking round the O2. Yer know, the O2 that is basically a giant fridge/freezer round by entrance F. Wearing a hoodie automatically makes you a trouble causer you know. (Seriously? Is it 2007 or whatever again? I despair).

Thanks, Karen. Once I've caught up with this thread I'm going to make a start on my letter...I'm quite looking forward to it in a strange cathartic way

Yep, there was definitely a delay in the start of the video for Faster; that file screen popped up by accident more than once.

Oh and I'd also like to echo all the praise for Revol. It was ace, definitely one of the highlights for me. I don't get why the band hate on it so much, but then I also happen to love Lifeblood/TBTGOG and think PFAYM is their worst album to date, so what do I know?

Watching a few of the videos up on Youtube so far half of them are shocking phone videos which aren't really watchable and the others are pretty good but don't capture the atmosphere. Like I saw a good video for Revol but it doesn't capture the crowd going bonkers for it plus the sound was rip roaring on the night....obiously it's impossible for videos to capture the magic of the moment but I have my memories! I still hope they release an official DVD though.

My girlfriend shot this video of YLAINE (from the lower tier) and the quality is pretty good, I think. We were far from the stage but the audio is good.

More videos to follow.

It was really lovely to meet Lizzie, Lowri, Ben and Karen! And of course Cristina! Oh and Claire, very briefly.

There was new stuff from SKON too, mainly James looking pensive in the football stadium.

I damn near squealed out loud and grabbed the knee of the guy sitting next to me when James came out wearing a sailor top. He was, as he said to me later, a casual fan and couldn't work out why I was so excited about James' top and Nicky's legs.

James sounded sublime, the atmosphere at the O2 was brilliant. I loved every second of it.

I don't know what happened to our half time entertainment though. I expected dancing girls or something!

I agree, she gave the song its vitality back again. Having witnessed the butchery of Cerys Matthews singing it in 2008 Nina was flawless in comparison! I don't think they should play it ever again unless she is available to make an appearance!
