It's got nostalgia and a sense of yearning for the past. Morrisons have tried to rip it off, but it just isn't Woolies. Actually I think Send Away The Tigers is a low point lyrically for Nicky. Most of it makes no sense, like he just jumbled up a load of random words and put them in a song. I think he got most of them from crosswords and word searches.

The lyrics to me seem to me to be about Richey & Richey references with what have you done to your hair, the hair in bunches and born to destroy/create....from Nicky. With some optimism that though winter's round the corner nothing lasts forever, it's not necessarily the end

I actually quite like that there are people who properly love Autumnsong. Takk mentioned objectivity (half in jest I'm sure) but that's the thing, most people's complaints with Autumnsong, or SATT, or PFAYM are subjective, objectivity has very little to do with it.

That said, I think the Underdogs edit complaint is, somewhat unusually, not a subjective one, as it's based on an objective idea of professionalism in audio work that appeared to be lacking, in the absence of evidence to the contrary at least.
