One can dream.
If not that, how about some GT-themed gigs in 2012 to mark that album's 20th anniversary?

I like it when bands do the whole "play an old album in full" thing. Imagine it now, GT from start to finish making up the main set, then an extended encore of other treats.

As far as the band's next step, I think they need to allow themselves the "freedom of failure" again, to use Nicky's line from the THB DVD. To hell with trying to make an album for the masses, or a specific audience that for all we know may no longer exist. Just make music THEY want to make, that THEY want to hear. Put it out, promote it, and see what happens.

I really really LOVE Know Your Enemy, but I think the next studio album should be Know Your Enemy 'done properly', if that makes any sense.
I listen to Know Your Enemy a lot and still really enjoy the album, but I just think the same ideas could be trimmed down into a 11 or 12 track album.
I'd like to hear more songs like Found That Soul, Intravenous Agnostic and Freedom of Speech Won't Feed My Children.
If they could do that and maybe merge the syle of The Second Great Depression and This Joke Sport Severed into the album too, that would really excite me.
It would also be better, prior to the release not to build the album up too much or compare it to past era's of the band etc. Just to release the album and see how it does, rather than bulling it up to be the best album since...
I think Postcards From A Young Man is an excellent album, but I just think it is time to make an album that comes a lot more naturally and try not to make The Holy Bible 2 or Everything Must Go 2.

Little Baby Trumpet

No one likes looking at you
Your lack of ego offends male
mentality
They need your trumpetness
To steal vacant love and to destroy
Your beauty and trumpetivity used
like toys

My mind is blown, everybody
trumps me
Wants a blow on me
Hopelessly passive and
compatible
Need to belong, oh the roads
are trumpety
So hold me in your arms
I wanna be your only
possession

Used, used, used by Sean

All they leave behind is money
Paper made out of broken twisted
trees
Your pretty trumpet offends
Because it's something real that I
can't touch
Brass, tubing, oblong, contour,
language as a trumpet

No god reached me, faded
breaths and loving lips
Black and white tumpeters
All the world does not exist
for me
And if I'm starving, you can
polish my lollipops
Your fingers will crush me
My life just an old jazz
memory

Little baby trumpet
Loveless slavery, lips kissing
empty
Dress your life in blowing
Breaking your mind with Brass
Blow futility

Little baby Trumpet
Trumpet free, made up not to blow up
Assassinated beauty
Mouths broken up, quenched at last
The vermin allowed a thought to
trumpt them by

You are pure, you are blown
We are the useless trumpets that they
mould
Trumpeting is our epiphany
Culture, alienation, boredom and
trumpet despair

Okay, so I posted something there and everyone had to go and trump it! ;-)

Maybe I offer Small Black Blowers That Blow In The Sky?

I said that on (minus the bit about SATT, which I maintain is easily their worst record) just after JFPL was released and got slated for it.

I would like to hear the dark acoustic album they've mentioned a few rimes. I imagine it sounding like 'Love Torn Us Under', which would be great. But probably they'll just release another substandard copy of EMG while claiming that it's an innovative blend of Guns 'N' Roses with the Beach Boys and Kraftwerk.
