Loads of bands actually. Kings Of Leon in 2008 off the top of my head, but I could list countless more.

As for the manics.. whoever makes these decisions must have a good idea of sales etc. I very much doubt they'd consider arenas if only a couple thousand were interested. I don't think they'll sell them out completely but they'll sell more than enough for it not to be embarrassing. I hope
I dont know if I should make this public, but I absolutely LOVE A-Ha!!! There I said it... now shoot me down!!!!

Well I did say I don't follow them But still, we've already had one tour for PFAYM, plus all the other dates I mentioned in my post. And just because A-ha did it, it doesn't really prove anything about the Manics, seen as they're two completely different bands with different followings.

indeed.. i shall eat my a-ha baseball hat if it all fails
I was just basing my opinion on the top 3 albums. Bands that sell that many tend to sell arenas quite well..but yea not everyone does two lots of dates

oh and i have to confess on not reading the rest of yr post.. i saw the words novelty and act and thought how VERY DARE YOU

I don't want a mega large arena tour!

I like the academies and small venues!!!!
