I find that listening to it as a whole has a VERY different effect to listening to one or two songs, although all the songs are "good songs" it's so powerful as an album it knocks my breath out a bit sometimes...

Me too! That's the best sing along part in the song (+ chorus of course). I absolutely adore the slower part near the end when the waltz rhythm sets in. It alters the tone of the song completely. It gets a very lethargic, 'I'm in my own insane world and I like it' direction opposed to the restless mood in the first half.
Sorry for being off-topic It's such a brilliant song, it deserves to be praised whenever I have the chance to do it

I agree with all of that, especially the analysis of the more wistful end section.

And all for praising it wherever possible, I mean what's not to love?

The "I, I, I, I, I wanna walk in the snow" bit is the catchiest/poppiest bit of the album methinks

I think it has to be the bit in Faster that reminds me of the Fun House theme tune. It is still not enough to ruin the song though.

Having listened to THB on the way to work today, I realised that This Is Yesterday actually fits the album absolutely perfectly, so I retract my previous suggestion that it was the low point of the album. The apostrophe in Ifwhiteamerica... truly is the only low point of the album.

Is that the bit where JDB sings "it's a real crazy show where anything will go"?

That must be the guitar overdub leading into "I am idiot drug hive..."

Its just fucking lazy Noel Gallagher-esque (but much faster) pentatonic hammer-ons.
