I've stopped listening to it completely. There are many great things about about it - fantastic arrangements, the most consistent lyrics since Lifeblood - but there is so much else that grates on me, most of which I've already dwelt on too much.
Somehow the album seems torn between trying to explore sincere, raw emotion in an adequate way - and wanting to be Radio 2 background jingles. Sometimes these two elements seem to collide in one song, Sullen Welsh Heart comes to mind.
I've been on such a rollercoaster ride regarding my Manics fandom ever since I heard RTF (song) for the first time that the album feels contaminated to me. I doubt I'll ever be able to listen to it again with enjoyment, I may not listen to it at all again. I may not listen to anything the Manics release from now on. /dramaqueen /ex-fan in denial

I don't know if AFALC is supposed to be a radio friendly song lamenting the fact that a song might not be important on the radio anymore or if it is irony for the sake of it.

I really don't like the song much anymore. I detest it live with Wayne Murrey backing vocals.

After a short absence I listened on Easter Saturday night. Home alone, I dimmed the lights, poured a nice red wine and placed the headphones on. I think this is the best way to listen to the album. It doesn't suit being played loud while you're washing the car or putting the washing out. Sitting down and taking it all in you realise how delicate it is in places. I think that "Running Out Of Fantasy" is so brittle and deeply, deeply personal. It is the best track on the album. Just. It's an album that has it's place to be listened to. The introverted nature of it all. Perhaps that's how Nicky wants it.

Listened to it again a fey days ago. It's one of those albums good for starting your morning in a light mood. Despite of a few depressive tracks.

I listen to it regularly. show me the wonder is my alarm tone, so it's safe to say I don't enjoy that song very much anymore.

Still listening to it, and really looking forward to hearing it after listening to Futurology a few times.
And who's going to be first to create a "Which tracks from RTF would you pick as well as Futurology tracks to make one album" thread?
Does anyone still listen to TIMTTMY? I have at least once this month.

Listening to it this morning I didn't feel any great connection to it. Some songs are very nice but I wouldn't say any are brilliant. The majority are just very very average.

Is there anyone on here who is genuinely into the album and feels the album has become part of their lives for the last few months??

Does anyone even still listen to the album?
No, never, same with Postcards. I only heard it 10 times last year and then decided to intentionally forget the songs - and I'm very succesfull with that.

TIMTTMY? No, even though it's far better. The last good album was EMG - then Lifeblood - then Journal for me

I've truly run out of the amount of fucks I can give in regards to your opinions on later manics albums.

I like a lot of songs from KYE, but to listen to the whole KYE is very demanding, I don't think I ever want to hear Let Robeson Sing or Year of Purification, etc. again.
