Also, is there a more sublime piece of music than the Saint Etienne remix of There By The Grace Of God by the Manic Street Preachers? One does not dare hope such a thing exists, but it does. And it's every bit as good as it ought to be.

Given the lack of remixes on the KYE reissue, and the immediate low sales expectations for a reissue of an album that ended up with £3 stickers in HMV a year after a release, I kind of ruled out stuff like that expanding it to a 3CD release.
But you are of course absolutely right, it's a stunning piece of music and one that shouldn't be lost to a DVD release of a less well remembered single.

Having gone back to the one disc version of KYE, I’m starting to wonder why Baby Elian isn’t on the DTTR disc on the reissue? Thoughts?

Probably the political angle of it's lyrics. Might be a better fit for Solidarity.

Yeah, you are probably right. The Lyrics on DTTR are, generally, more personal. Although BE may well have sat comfortably next to LRS, both musically & lyrically. Certainly the lovely acoustic riff lends itself to DTTR, rather than being sandwiched between TC & MATC 😬

Interesting point.

I think the idea fits in with the reactionary nature of the era. The whole thing with the KYE era is that it was very deliberately made as the anti-Truth/anti-Glasto'99 era, and one of the big things about that era was the Manics' massively unsuccessful attempt to break America. Again. Doing the ol' "Well, I didn't actually like you anyway, I actually like your SWORN ENEMY" thing of giving up on courting America and instead courting Cuba seems consistent with the overall theme there.
