I've heard so much about this film but when the band themselves seem to have no interest in it then it doesn't inspire confidence really. I don't think the record company have any interest in it anyway. I feel for the creators, I really do, but it's almost 7 years since it was announced and I generally hear a collective cry of " Who gives a shit?" coming from the fanbase.

Aye, looking at how films like this usually work, I'd say it's likely to be lost to the world forever

I think this is unfair really. If it came out, I don't think that would be the response.

I'm sure any active manics fan would want to see it. And probably a lot of people who used to be into the band. Although the latter wouldn't want to pay for it, but would watch it on Sky Arts or somewhere.

It will hardly get any backing at this stage, as it's well outdated now.

I was just about to start a thread asking about No Manifesto, too. Well, it looks like we're still no nearer a completion/release date, then? Sad. It's been in the pipelines for yunks now. I remember discussing this when I first joined this forum and that was damn near nine years ago!

All I've been able to find is this Youtube channel with, like, three videos attached

It's a shame they can't just stick all the raw footage sans music online, thus bypassing all legal trouble. Or can they...?

I've just read back a few pages and become informed of the problems. What a shame Sony backed out of the deal! But, as Midlands Junk said, take out the copyrighted material and surely that would circumvent the issue? But then, that would render the project null. You can't really have a Manics documentary without Manics' music.

You're not wrong actually.

Or, why can't they just stick up a download on a website so that people can grab a digital copy of it for £5 a pop or something? They're clearly going to loose money on this, but it's better than getting back nothing at all.

Because they aren't allowed to, without paying Sony.

Given up on this now. Always stayed optimistic but now it's clearly not happening
It's a shame and a total waste if time. Hopefully the filmmakers take this as a learning curve!
I do think that at least some short extra clips could be added to YouTube though!
Doesn't the filmmaker own the copyright? (I don't mean to the music)

Most or a lot of it features music though. I don't think it is a learning curve, I think certain people reneaged on the deal they agreed.
