i voted yes. i couldn't give a flying fuck about playing the Manics single, they should be destroyed because they got rid of the two things they were ace for - The Radio 1 Roadshow and the Ooooooo Gary Davies! Couldn't care less about whether they play the Manics single or not, that would be the least of the reasons I'd love to see Radio 1 wiped off the face of the earth. It's vile. Who are the 39 who have voted no? I do hope it's no one I thought a lot of...

It's not at all, your just not it's demographic, radio1 has plenty of decent output, just not really during the day unless your into chart pop which believe it or not is just as important to the world as any music you like to its listeners. It completely serves a purpose, getting rid of it would be beyond retarded, you think that sort of music would just cease to exist? I would vote no every single time, and i never even listen to it

Wasn't it mentioned that Radio 1 played A Design For Life the other day? See, they're promoting the new Manics album in the most sensible way. Radio 2 and XFM are just humiliating the Manics in front of everyone.

Yeah, this. I don't know if Radio 1 is still the same but it's not (just) the shit music I hate about it, but the fact that it's being delivered by idiot presenters and aimed at idiot listeners. The news is like an audio version of Newsround.

Idiot listeners are those who spend their money buying music. Band can't reach No.1 if idiot listeners don't buy their single.
