It's... alright, I guess.
Probably my least favourite of the snippets from the video, but it is what it is, I suppose. Manics being Manics doing Manicsy things. I give it uhhhhhhh 7.5/10. Certified banger (no mash).

I like the new song, mostly, but to me it's just too over-produced. Too much shit going on.
I'm sure I'll love the album, as I like the song, but they need to dial back their proclivity toward overbearing production a bit. It's been a problem on a few albums, and seems to be rearing it's head on this one as well. |

I love the new track, great sound, love the mix of synth and guitar. Looks like a nice direction for the band.

Taht is cool to hear, but highly doubt it will mean anyone goes out and purchases the song on download. Sad the band don't get even top 100 tracks nowadays, I know it's all changed and it means very little now, but still. Should have released the song on limited vinyl, a lot of bands and artists still do that. Surprised they stopped after AFALC in 2013 but oh well.

Might help with streaming, didn't someone say it got in the top 75 recently? I feel like there's a buzz around this that hasn't really been there since YLA (though nowhere near the same league).

Like the new single even if it isn't a standout like some of their previous ones. I guess we'll have to see how it fits in with the rest of the album, but it is quite promising in that regards and a suitable follow on from Futurology.

The forum went down so I didn't get a chance to give my views on this.
I like it (and I love the three stonking great riffs that take over the final third of it), but it's a fairly average track if I'm not going to lie to myself and strangers on the internet about it. The lyrics are actually more sophisticated than I at first realised, but musically it reminds me of an EMG-era b-side. Now, I love b-sides, as I can never say enough, but this is only a so-so one. Baffling choice for a lead single, unless the album's not very good. I do like that it's about art, btw. Incidentally, the mad mental riffage begins at 2.40 and just doesn't stop.

I think the marketing team have pulled a blinder so far on the album and single. Have they got someone new in?
Not sure if bringing FD down in the same week was part of that masterstroke

Heard it on the radio and even though it's only a couple of seconds lopped off, I was still surprised there's a radio edit!
