The remaster's loud but it's not clipped or suffering from dynamic fuckery; it's more about bringing some power into the songs. It sounds really good and in many ways far superior to somewhat anemic sound of the original release.

Thanks to anyone who can offer an opinion.
I've been too busy taking care of a newborn to listen to the whole thing since it arrived, but I was curious about this as well after reading comments from people saying it was the loudest CD they have ever heard. I can't speak yet to the quality and detail. In terms of loudness, on a very quick comparison it sounds about as loud as the 2CD Japanese 2009 edition of Send Away the Tigers. It is noticeably louder than the 2CD Japanese edition of Generation Terrorists.

The loudest CD they've ever heard? Christ, what do they listen to!? It's certainly got more volume and punch to it than the original issue but it isn't that loud.

I didn't think it was that much louder either. Still, it's all down to your volume button innit?

3rd November 2012 - email to say it's been dispatched

5th November 2012 - release date

17th December 2012 - the boxset is finally delivered after sending in 3 complaints about delivery...

well at least I finally have it, finally I can enjoy it, taken long enough for it to get here!

Can't say I noticed any difference in the remasters (but then I never do with these things) and didn't get much out of the demos (but then...). Would have much preferred the B-sides one.

Liking the DVD though, loved the story about the producer cutting the fuck off out of SB at the last minute...

Angry Generation Terrorists - MyPlayDirect Complaints

Hi

Anyone know where complaints can be sent about MyPlayDirect, the firm handling the dispatch of the Generation Terrorists box sets?

I ordered mine as soon as the link went up on the Manics site. Nothing arrived so early December I contacted MyPlayDirect only to be told they'd mislaid my address details, despite them being clearly confirmed on my order receipt.

I sent these to them and now they say all the box sets have gone so I can have my money back instead. This service is a disgrace. My National Treasures box set came all bashed up and it took me ages to get a replacement for that.

They wont provide MP3s as compensation either for the mistake.

Can anyone help or have any similar experiences???

I think you were far from the only person to have problems with MyPlayDirect Santa Dog - that sucks though and I'm sorry to hear about your shitty experience with them.

Smile Generation Terrorists - Super Deluxe Problems

Hi

For anyone who is has been sadly disappointed by the pathetic responses from MyPlayDirect to problems with their GT orders, I managed to contact their customer services manager, a chap called Steffen who can be reached at steffen@rgnrtr.com. I've had my cash refunded plus a 12 month discount at the Manics shop in compensation. I'm just hoping they release something that I can purchase!!

Anyway good luck to those still having problems.
