I don't have a problem with anyone thinking whatever they like. Saying the band might've heard from Richey since his vanishing act isn't an accusation. It's something to consider. Anything's possible, but yeah default is safe.

Everyone is free to believe whatever they want. And they are free to express themselves on the forum. It shouldn't lead to being pointed as delusional, liar, etc. No one really knows what happened. This is what this thread was about, just a theory, as all Richey threads. I never feel comfortable posting in Richey theories threads because they all end up in fights. So I rather keep my thoughts to myself, which is sad as this is the place to talk about those things. But any Richey debate always reach a point of personal accusations and it really disturbs me.
So everyone, let's keep an open mind and respect each other thoughts and theories. No one has the truth which means every opinion is valid and plausible. One of my best friends thinks he is dead, I think he is alive, we can spend hours talking about him without fighting, and we will never agree with each other, but it's nice to exchange opinions. This isn't the case here, people go hardcore about their beliefs, and forget no one knows anything. Everything we write is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.

I think that if you post your opinion on a forum like this where people know a lot about the case and people have different personal experiences that relate, you have to be prepared for them to debate your opinion with you and pick holes in it. Forums are meant for discussion after all, and it would be a bit boring if we just accepted everyone's theories without comment.

I don't think anyone has got particularly personal on this thread really, they're just pointing out the flaws in theories and having a debate on it. I understand that obviously as we don't have an answer to what happened, it's not possible to definitely tell someone they're wrong but some theories I've heard have been so illogical and unlikely, it's pretty easy to dismiss them as not having happened.

I don't care what you think, really, so feel free to say he lives on the moon with no evidence, if you like. But this is a discussion board. Saying the band and his sister/family have heard from him but have continued to say he's dead/missing, and in the latter's case continued to make heartlfelt appeals for his return is an accusation, however much you dress it up.

Well yeah, it's not like anyone's been personally involved in it but there's 20 years worth of interviews with the band and with his sister on the matter and if you've taken an interest in the band and the case, you pretty much know the facts and circumstances of the disappearance in great detail.
