I played my vinyl version yesterday. For the most part I wasn't really paying attention. Whether that says more about me, the album or my relationship with the album is open to debate.

It's definitely a proof of your adult personality which doesn't allow you to pay attention to a complete shit

We don't usually pay attention all the time while hearing a song that we're very familiar with. Of course, we do, sometimes, depending on moods and situations, we can always rediscover a well-known song. But that's not the point.

Still listen to it, still astounded by its beauty.

I think you've made your opinion on the album quite clear enough already.

My girlfriend bought me RTF 2 disc version and gave me it as a surprise yesterday so I played that and enjoyed it. It's a better than people give it credit for but it's still nothing amazing by far.

It has a very special place in my heart in that it soundtracked my move to Holland, a lot of internal despair surrounding that and emotions I went though personally. I don't listen to it as much as I did then, but when I do I enjoy it for the nice memories it brings me.

I spotted a mistake in the booklet too, it says regarding the live O2 songs that they were recorded in December 2012, when the gig was in 2011. Idiots.

I did do a search and got distracted by a few other threads (Including one I made!) and I just want to say I've got back into listening to RTF.
It's a great album and I think over the years it'll increase in appreciation. |

I'm listening to a few thematic playlists I've made recently, and it contains quite a few tracks from this album too.

Had it on a few times recently, can't believe we're crackin on for two years since that tour now, seems like no time ago. I still love it. Show Me The Wonder still makes no sense to me as a single though. Well, I say that, depends what you want from a single.. Yeah, it's catchy, can definitely imagine it playing over MOTD's Goal Of The Month compilation, it's poppy and.. I like it, don't love it just like it. It's pleasant. I think title track does a better job of representing the album though, if that's what you're after from a single.

Seems to me like the Manics' single strategy was more about earning money, so they tend to pick those more acceptable to the common ear. Can't blame them, they've got families to feed. And, singles or not singles, they're true artists, so...
