'Found That Soul' is about Nicky's Justin-Lee Collins-style hunt for David Soul, of Starsky and Hutch fame.

'Empty Souls' is about Soul's subsequent non-attendance at a Starsky and Hutch reunion, i.e. his empty promises to appear.

'Damn Dog' is about James' hatred of celebrity dogs, such as Schnorbitz, Spit The Dog and that dog off That's Life that could say 'sausages!'

The solo in Kevin Carter is actually just a kazoo (the Kevinliest of instruments), slowed down and treated in production to make it sound like a trumpet.
