I would think it's a mixture of lower bit-rate (like when you zoom in on a digital photo and it starts pixelating - the more pixels on the original; the larger you can have without distortion - however it takes up more space).

That and they've converted it from PAL (more lines) to NTSC (less lines). Audio will also be slightly different as they will have had to re-sync it because of the different refresh rates of PAL and NTSC.

I've ventured into second disc territory now. It'll all end in tears, I know.

Starts off solid enough with Tolerate but The Everlasting has already killed it. Shocking choice for a single, especially when you have to put up with all six minutes of it. Come back, FD edit, all is forgiven. Oh to be listening to Ready For Drowning instead right now...

My copy of NT, which I ordered from HMV arrived yesterday. I ordered the limited edition version with TITD single. I've always ordered from HMV and have never had a problem with them. I showed this edition to a mate of mine, who was very impressed with the packaging.

Only just realised that there isn't a vinyl version of this. Really haven't been paying attention have I?

I missed the bundle from HMV with the single, and now it's sold out.. Can anyone confirm that the single (TITD) is being released? I've heard Nov. 7th. but I can't find it anywhere.

that was the last official word, but there's no pre-orders anywhere, no adverts and no further comment. we shall all find out together in 10 days time.

My £8.93 and £14.93 orders from Amazon have been dispatched and are due for delivery tomorrow! Can't remember what the difference is between the two orders. Never mind. EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I prefer the regular CD. Fewer pictures of the Manics and more of the attractive blond girl. The packaging doesn't scratch the discs either. Regular is the new deluxe.

I got the deluxe on Saturday, great book . great piece of collectors stuff.

31 on the itunes chart, and up against professor green and florence.

no chance of number 1 i'm afraid.

In conclusion:
- A much better package than Forever Delayed. The booklet and photos are beautiful
- Although TBTGOG and DTTR are far superior to TITD
- Aaand the DVD is a bit of a rip off. Lower res videos and it doesn't even have the track by track on there.
