'New Music' being whatever the record label have recently decided should be inflicted upon us or stuff stolen from Xfm and 6.

Radio One must die. Make Radio Two the new Radio One and 6Music the new Radio Two. There's nothing on there which isn't found on the bilge that is commercial pop radio.

Simples.

I ain't paying my TV / Radio licence money to the BBC to fund the piece of shite that is Radio 1. Leave the crap music for the commercial radio stations.

Whilst at 6th Form I heard A Design For Life and You Stole The Sun from My Heart played on Radio 1 so they're not completely oblivious to the Manics. But I'm still confused why they never play their new singles when there are other old bands (eg: Foo Fighters) that they play the new singles of.

radio ones not so bad, but some of the presenters need to be jettisoned into the sun.

The DJs have nothing to offer and simply say every "new" bit of music is amazing. You just have to let your own taste find the good music as opposed to having it force fed into you.

On Radio 2 today at lunch I listened to ELO and listened to both sides of a debate on whether the richest 10% of the UK should be forced to cover our budget deficit.

I think Radio 2 wins.

Except millions of people in the UK listen to it on a daily basis, so it's doing its job.

And they didn't playlist the new Manics song because it's shite and embarrassing.

You're not serious, are You? Do You really think Radio 1 didn't playlist Manics' single (which was playlisted A on 2 and 6) because it's bad? Indian Summer was bad, Autumnsong was bad, YLAINE was bad, Empty Souls (!) was bad, Nixon was bad... All those songs are worse than what Radio 1 plays???

Radio 1 went down the pan when the Evening Session was canned, pure and simple.

The last time I listened to Radio 1 was in 1999, on an hour long journey to Great Yarmouth they played You Stole The Sun about 10 times.

It has nothing to do with the Manics, it's purely because their promoting ignorance by putting such vacuous twats at the forefront of mainstream culture. They need to get Ferne Cotton, Jo FUCKING Whiley, Scott Mills and Westwood into the studio, and burn it down.
