I think that was my last also. Probably going to get this one in some capacity.

I'm not looking forward to this - I really do have an irrational hatred of sport-related songs.

Even for a 'sports anthem' the title sounds all-too generic. Nicky might be trying to subvert a trop there, of course...*

Could be due to the fact that it's the motto of the Welsh football league? But yes, it is a whee bit underwhelming. Especially compared to the Furries unofficial football-and-community-anthem dropping at about the same time - that promises to be somewhat more ... fun? exciting? cool? can't put my finger on it... I'm willing to give it the benefit of doubt, of course, and I am sure doing this song meant a lot to the boys. And who knows? They just did an unexpectedly great 80s cover, so this might be ace!

Anodyne 'corporate identity' guff, yep. Really hoping the lyrics subvert all that, or at least have a dig at it. This is what I'm hoping for. Presumably they'll have put a decent bit of effort into it. I'm imagining something self-consciously anthemic though, noticeably similar to ADFL and Indian Summer... we'll see.

Advert on Radio Wales this morning (approx 7.45/50 a.m) for a show on the 13th about the recording of the song. Featured sound bites from James along the lines of ' if it was ok for New Order' and 'we're at peace with being the band who made The Holy Bible and a football song'.
Radio presenters then commented that the song sounds like 'the the' which I thought was interesting until I quickly realized the advert used This is the Day as background music. |

With the signed single already sold out do we think this will chart very high?

Will it chart? Who knows, this could be their, kind of like you know, last successful shot at mass communication? The last time it meant we forever got duets, mostly with samey-sounding females. If this one goes through the roof, there'll be a sportsteam of some description on EVERY future album! (or 4)

I know chart position means nothing nowadays but it would be a bit a like Leicester winning the league to see the boys up there again at number 1.

Was the signed a limited edition? Somehow I've a feeling we're going to be flooded with inflated prices on EBay after the knockout in the Euro 2016!

I'd kind of forgotten charts were a thing, and I'm still not even sure I believe they are now.
Also not sure why the pre-order price for the non-signed CD on Amazon is currently so insane (£8.87?!), but hopefully it'll com'on down before release.

If they want a lot of people to buy it why the price so stupidly high? I'm confused. Put it at like £2 or something. I don't know how the charts work now at all for singles as isn't all do with streaming now or whatever that is? I don't know where you stream music from, I just stick to buying CDs myself and then put stuff on my laptop I reckon the single will make the top 75...No. 58 is my guess sadly but I hope for much higher.
