Anyone else think `Zeitgeist` is a complete masterpiece?

Got the record a couple of months ago, and I have to say it´s absolutely fantastic. the above-mediocre reviews of it had me prepared for something...uh...above-mediocre. But th critics were wrong as always.
The album is filled with brilliant, cozy and intelligent songs. I hereby dub "I Killed The Zeitgeist" the Overlooked Masterpiece of the new Century.

Its beautiful, I can never articulate the reasons why I love this album so much, so I simply agree every time someone mentions that it's bloody brilliant.
As a side thought, I think it'd be even more perfect if 'Afterbloom' and 'Derek Jarman's Garden' were on the album, as they are too damn perfect to be lost as a Japanese bonus track and b-side respectively.

Oh there is. The other bonus aside from 'Afterbloom', 'Memory Bucket', is a very pretty track. But not so stunning as the aforementioned.

I'm with you good sir. It's likeable because it isn't a masterpiece. It's simple and fun. Some of it is a bit sub-standard but it is a fun album which is easy to listen to.

I dunno about the album as such as I tend to kind of listen to it on my ipod in a file with all the other bits and pieces together as otherwise you don't get the B-sides and the japanesse album tracks and things like ritual no 1 which are every bit as good. But I think actually quite a lot of people would agree with you - it seems to be that most people that got it really love it - I dunno quite what it is about it. I guess maybe part of it was surprise as I don't think even the most die hard Wire fan could have predicted it would be good let alone that good, and lyrically its probably some of the best stuff he's done for years. Also musically it feels quite imaginative, possibly because he's not really done it before/knows what he was doing. Even the packaging was lovely, which is very important - although I still wish you could get it on vinyl.

I'm looking forward to the second one a lot though if it follows in the same idea.

Also I've yet to work quite what it is that causes it but the title track came up on shuffle on my ipod the other day and two years and who knows how many plays on it still just makes me grin every time, its just somehow the most perfect Nicky like song.

I don´t know what makes it so fantastic - it just is,

It´s so intimate, cozy and eccentric at the same time - Like having tea with Nicky Wire on a rainy sunday afternoon - and after half an hour you realise your cup is spiked with LSD.
