What a silly idea, they're very different and anyway, Johnny is in The Cribs, plus he'd outcool Nicky.

the Manics have a pretty good guitarist, and Marr seems OK doing his own thing. i doubt Marr would "add" much to the sound, really.
i can forsee a "mega group" featuring Ian Brown, Noel Gallagher & Marr one day, mind.

He'd add as much as Tom from the enemy did at the NME Big Gig... nothing.

I'm sure he would add something, because he's ace, but I have no idea what makes you think he would suit Manic Street Preachers. |

would be interesting though marr's sound is quite tame. ive always wanted to hear james sing a smiths song particularly Ask or charming man if he can remember it haha

bigboots, i am not knocking the idea, but for what reason is it that the Manics would, 10 albums down the road, all of a sudden wish to be "The New Smiths"? you are assuming that they weren't seen like that at the time? i know of a lot of Smiths fans who were disillusioned with Moz's solo career and somewhat naturally graduated to the sounds offered by Generation Terrorists......

They don't need him, I would like to hear more Rickenbacker sounds from JDB though

Marr isn't into the whole Manics ethic, I saw him coolly watch the Cribs smash their stage set before putting his jacket on and take his guitar off stage. He's more like Sean in that respect.

Mental. Next time I log on here there'll be a hundred different new topics going: david bowie joining the manics, noel gallagher joining the manics, bla bla bla bla bla. Hmmmm.

Hmmm, I'm not sure this would ever happen, even if it was mooted to happen. He seems happy with The Cribs at the 'mo.

I think the transfer window shut yesterday... oh.
Maybe he could add nice little jangly guitar bits to the start of each song, just before the masive wall of sound squishes him completely in the mix. jangle jangle jangleSHOW ME A WONDER YOU CAN'T BE SURE OF!
