been wondering.. what does the ( ) on the cd sleeves of everything must go era mean? any ideas?

Like the empty shelf on the back sleeve I always took it to be a reference to abscence but guess 'Richey' is a bit of a stock answer really isn't it ?

Self-conscious aesthetic and design cleverness intended to have people going, 'I wonder what that means'.

It does still look good, mind.

Raises one other issue: given that after THB Nicky is often credited with cover design input, do James and Sean even have any say?
