That must be the worst line up I have ever seen at a Music Festival, its almost like those Channel 4 Live on the Beach thingys from Weston!¬

No chance of Reading and Leeds. Getting a bit silly how much they've played V recently but not R/L. Embarassed to see them up there.

The Manics being billed below Kaiser Chiefs is a crime surely punishable by death. On the plus side, All Saints are back back back.

I'm wondering if the spate of festivals is due to a belief that the new album will do well?

I'm a tad surprised they're doing V over Leeds/Reading, but hey ho. Seriously doubt I'll go, even if they are on the same day as The Killers. I'm holding out hope that The Killers will announce another warm-up gig just before V, like they did in 2012 at Leeds Academy on the Friday. But even if they don't I can live without seeing them again and we've got the actual tour for the Manics anyway.
Don't worry, they've only been revived because of Ricky Wilson's appearance as a judge on The Voice. |

they were billed above them at that NME gig. That worked out well

Don't forget guys, this is just the preliminary line up. The position relates no way to status at the moment other than the headliners. Maybe they're headlining the second stage or the JJB tent or whatever it's called now.
This lineup is shocking for my tastes I will admit.

Shocking line-up in general yes, but I do like me a bit of Starsailor.

I'd be perfectly happy with that lineup, but there's something very soulless about V Festival.

Weirdly, the last time I went to V, the killers, manics and lily allen were all there.

If you think the Manics' position on that poster is sad, look where Blondie are. Actual factual bonafide legends with the most famous songs of anyone on that line up.
Anyway, the Manics will get no better than the mid afternoon slot they were handed last time. It was awful then, it will be awful again. Wouldn't have been so bad for Rewind The Film but this doesn't do much to prove that this Futurology era is 4 REAL. Presumably, they won't be playing The Holy Bible in full at this one. They should, though, because it can't go down any worse than the hits setlist from last time. No, really. |
