I've just worked mine out ... it was my 31st! I remember talking to someone in a queue back in 2005 who told me she'd seen them 29 times, and I thought she was barmy.

I always reckon it's best to see the Manics very early in a tour because there's usually a few great songs that then get dropped as the set settles into more of a 'best of' package.

To be fair, the show is being varied every night but the loss of Sleepflower and Empty Souls is a shame when they're replaced by more standard choices.

duly noted but don't they always start in scotland? Too lazy to go all the way up there

First time I met Harrijack, I told her I'd seen them 10 times, and she replied with something like "oh my God, you must be a really hardcore fan!". Kind of amusing in retrospect, considering we've both seen the Manics many, many times since then.

I feel like I must be the only person quite glad they've dropped both Sleepflower and Empty Souls.

I hope Sleepflower makes an appearance towards the end of the tour. My first date isn't til the 26th! I saw it a few times on the SATT tour but I like it live.

So they not playing a song off Lifeblood now? Tut, bloody typical that. Empty Souls is pretty good but I agree it doesn't work live cos they play it too slow (unlike as we all know that Isle of White 2004 performance which I really want to heat again!!).
SLeepfloweer being dropped. Gutted. Bring it back for Leeds lads!!

I'm glad I've got to a few of the earlier gigs, stuff always seems to disappear without trace. Wonder if we'll even get The Descent or Hazelton Avenue again, never mind Sleepflower and Empty Souls..

Was this gig even a sell out? Alright, I was a wall flower throughout but there seemed to be quite a lot of space around the edges. Well, there was enough space for the pissheads to do their things.

We had a feeling that some of the more "unusual" songs would get dropped, which is why we are doing a beginning, middle and end date(s). I'm hoping it's not just going to be a greatest hits-fest by the time they hit Brixton...

Well, the Lifeblood tour started in Brighton, the PPF tour started in Southampton, the spring/summer SATT tour started in Cambridge so no, they don't all start in Scotland.

Should've been advertised as a Greatest Hits Tour. I REALLY hope they do another tour and properly tour the album, four songs just isn't acceptable. I can't think of many other bands who tour an album and only play four songs and hardly bother rotating them. They're getting very lazy, they're convinced they're some kind of huge stadium band who attract average punters off the street who only know the few hits. Doesn't work like that these days boys, get with the times you're a cult band again.

Not a big fan of The Descent, but I'm glad I've seen it. I do like Hazelton Avenue though. I just wanna see as many different songs as I can. I'm even glad I saw The Love Of Richard Nixon once...

I hope we'll get two very different setlists in Brixton, being two gigs in a row in the same place, with more or less the same audience.. they can't possibly play the same songs... can they?
