You have a point - a two year break might halt his 'fan-fear' training regime giving us a chance to catch him when they tour again

I guess it's a good thing. I just hope that people won't lose there interest on them after the 2 years break.

No Greatest Hits, and no 70 songs ...

Now I'll enjoy Pinkpop 1000%, as it seems we won't be seeing them again for some period.

Enjoy the break lads, and come back with a GREAT album. In the Manics we thrust
If this is true, it's the best decision they've made in years. Look forward to the 2014 album...

Wire's releasing 2 books. With a foot in the publishing world, I suspect it will suck him in and he'll get addicted, so suspect he'll have plenty to do and hope it will be good for his creativity.

As for James, waiting for some kind of music project to be announced any day now.

I said this already on page three... These books better be good Wire. I think the polaroid one is going to be special.

Now that I've read it, I'd like to thoroughly recommend page 3... no topless babes on it though.

Still no clue what this 2nd book of Nicky's is?

You're asking me as if I know...I don't For all we know it could be Nicky Wire's Walks: a tour of Nicky's favourite Welsh walks; Nicky's big book of Makeup Tips e.g. How to apply garish eyeshadow the Wire way, turn off the lights, rub glitter on face.

I'd buy the Wire's Walks one, but not the Make-Up Tips.

Maybe James will write a book. I'd buy it whatever it was about!

He should, he's very erudite. I bet he spells better than the Wire too.

I'd like JDB to start a side project band focused on 50's and 60's rock n roll and 70's punk.

Two years between albums is nothing for the average band, especially after the first two or three. Blimey, try being a Cure fan...

What worries me more is that they don't know where to go next, having done the 'coming back with something bombastic' thing twice. They got away with SATT because the whole landfill indie thing was making guitar music mainstream at the time, but those days have gone so they just need to make something from the heart and, dare I say, original, and forget about any more popularity tactics.

Obviously I'll miss 'em, though.

The Manics are the Manics. I think they have very set ideas in their heads about how they like to go about things. But I shall be looking forward to the new album with eagerness as always!
