I was also at the gig, a bit quieter than when I went to see the Manics back in the 90s, but thoroughly enjoyeable none the less to see them now I'm much older.

Nicky seems to have aged dramtically, but the energy from James and Sean was amazing and the best parts of the set were New Art Riot and So Why So Sad for me.

The Japanese fans arent quite as nuts as the Irish and British, but at least nobody got hurt or taken out of the venue. Didnt see anyone being sick either, nor even a queue at the bar.

I had a camera with me and filmed a lot of songs, sadly I lost it and have been quite gutted since, but will upload the only song I had on the previous memory card soon, it was near the start of the set - a short clip of Faster.

T-shirts were also good with International Treasures written on the back.

No. He looks younger than most 35-year-olds.

I think it wasn't related to his look but to his state of health....

Well, if it was relating to this then I totally agree. He's an old man when it comes to his state of health.

Just got home from Tokyo, still on Japanese time! Its 05.34 tomorrow morning over there. The whole experience was Amazing. The gigs were fantastic and very surreal being on the same flight out as the Manics. Everything about Japan is lovely and met a couple of Japanese Manic fans who were great. well worth the 12hour flight (which was also very good, well done Virgin Atlantic). Off to bed now for some much needed sleep.

Glad you had an amazing time Louise!

I was stood just in front of him for most of the set. It was his skin, his lack of jumping around etc. Having seen the Manics when they were still young and in their late 20s/early 30s, they do seem to have aged. I didn't say it was a bad thing.

In fact I'd argue compared to some rock n roll stars in their forties, they've not aged as badly as others.

This was simply my perception of Nicky as it was the first time I seen him in the flesh since 2005 (a gig in Shepherd's Bush, London, England).

They still rock big time, and Nicky was there with a few good one liners, couldnt make out or remember all the chit chat (of which there was a lot), but:

Nicky said "Im a married man of 20 odd years"
James said "we've got a special guest for this song, from Wales, Gryff" (before doing Let Robeson Sing)
James said "Nicky's going to be the fashion agent for Lady Gaga"
James said "We hope to see you again in 2 years Tokyo"
James said "This next song hasn't been played for years and I needed to print the lyrics for it." (this came as a surprise to me, as the song was PCP, which I thought would have been played more recently)
Nicky said (I think before Roses in The Hospital): "this is for the beautiful boy"

I've got one video of Faster, from the edge of the arena, just after this I moved to the front and later lost my camera, so this is the only video I got. There were loads of people around taking videos, so hopefully some will appear online soon by other's:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJrKU...ature=youtu.be

Totally back into the band again after not really knowing how good they could be anymore.

People on here seem to be "disappointed" by at least one or two songs from each gig so mine were - not really a singles only tour, as they left a few out and added a few others in. (Further Away, Suicide Alley, New Art Riot and PCP were in, none are on the album National Treasures) Omitted also were Voodoo Polaroids, Umbrella and Jackie Collins Existential Question Time.

I'd have kept the first 4 I mentioned, but would have left out a few songs to squeeze the others in. Lipstick Traces and Journal For Plague Lovers were ignored as far as I could tell.

The Love of Richard Nixon also sounded amazing, and that was from an album I felt lacked any real bite to it.

All in all a fantastic gig, and I seriously hope they keep going, hopefully they come back to Asia in 2 years as promised, and before that a new album would be fantastic!!

Any of Richey's lyrics still floating around? Or have they all been used now?

On a more serious note, I'm not sure, selfishly speaking, that I want to hear any more Richey's stuff, if it's going to be like JFPL (=never played live)...
