Yep, that was the one where I thought he might have asked for it to be edited out as he looked uncomfortable. I cringed when they asked that, very ignorant question.

It wasn't an ignorant question...at the time I thought it was a bit blunt, but he got some really insightful stuff out of them - I think the positivity, humour and intimacy from the band was probably a result of some of the emotional questions, and I hadn't heard that kind of thing before.

What an unbelievable day! Myself and my Girlfriend were lucky enough to be there. We got on a flight from Edinburgh at 06.20 after a 03.15 alarm wake up! There was a delay of about 2 hours in Birmingham due to the fact that someone had fallen ill on the flight! So after we'd got through the airport and got to our hotel, it was changed then straight up to Maida Vale. Queued for about 2 hours, didn't' seem like that as we were chatting away with fellow fans and talking about gig experiences, music and life in general! The gig itself was fantastic. I got some great pictures and some great videos.
After the gig finished and as the band were walking off stage, I ran over to James and asked for a picture, he said 'We'll be out in 20 minutes' - Studio security were going mad, but he was alright with it! So the band finally did come out. Nicky came out first, and was super cool, and a genuinely nice guy, spoke to him at length about a lot of things, posed for pictures, and he signed my 10th Anniversary copy of EMG. Sean was very cool too, he didn't say much, but still appreciated us being there, again same with Sean, got a picture too and the album signed. James was really cool too, he pretty much let on about Barrowlands as Nicky had said inside the studio about the announcement. I said to James, 'So are you coming back to Scotland?' 'Possibly' was the reply i got. I then said 'Barrowlands?' he said 'We'll see' then winked at me. Signed the album, got a photo. All in all one of the best days of my whole life!

I was saying in the queue how I'm sick of journalists either asking ignorant questions because they have no knowledge of the band, or just asking deferential pointless questions because they (the journos) are fans.
I think he struck the balance of asking intriguing questions that gave the band the respect they deserve (couldn't resist) and the space to deflect anything they wished. Even Pricey said he heard stories he's never heard before at it. Lets face it, the band always knew that this album comes with some painful memories and that was one reason they toyed with the idea of just letting this anniversary pass. Instead they have chosen to mark it with a commercial tour and commercial re-releases and also promote it. I'm not saying that the band owe every part of themselves because they're doing this - but it is not unreasonable to be asked difficult questions in an interview with an intimate slant. It certainly pulled my heart strings to hear their voiced wobble. But the interview as a whole was largely upbeat; especially the camp (and I mean this in both senses of the word) fire Design For Life sing-a-long. Which I loved.

Overall I thought the interview was great, it's just I don't think personal questions should be expected, just because they are in a band with very famous history. I don't feel they 'owe' anything. You'd be very tactful if you asked a personal question to a non-famous person. It's how the question is posed which makes a big difference as to how ignorant it might come across. I know they are entertainers but I don't find others' discomfort entertaining. But like I said, bar a couple of badly worded questions, I thought it was great and very interesting.
Wish i'd hung around to chat to Nicky but I got my photo pretty soon after he came out and thought i'd get out of the way!

I hope they don't edit out all of the funny bits. Like when Nicky and James were ready to rock, everyone looked at Sean *pause*. Sean: What are we playing? lol

As for the questions from the presenter, some were badly worded, but there wasn't any that any of the Band said 'No, we're not answering that'
