Sean is the band's secret weapon. I believe that is actually part of his real full name, Sean Secret Weapon Moore.

blimey, i am the wrong person to ask! best i can suggest is that you browse the magazine / newspaper appearances thread.
he was also somewhat vocal in the NME thing where they (incorrectly) ranked their own singles.

The upcoming issue of Classic Rock (with Jeff Beck on the cover) has a 5 page article on the Manics (they've been given the Classic Songwriter Award).
Sean has plenty to say in that interview commenting on 17 of the Manics songs, plus picking Bag Lady as his song choice "I remember the lyrics being handed to me by Richey. I've still got them. He gave them to me the last weekend we saw him, believe it or not. It was the closest I could get to Dave Grohl in my playing. I went to visit Richey in Cardiff when he was ill, and he was going on about this mad corporate lawyer who was there at the same time who was ranting and talking constantly through the night and kept Richey awake. And he just wrote these ramblings all down and that became that song. So that's why I like it so much - and the fact that I nailed it in one brilliant take. But our engineer fucked it up so we had to do it all again." |

Disregard my earlier comments, I'd only played it through the pc speakers when I wrote that and it sounded like turning the guitars and drums up had shaken all the glitter off! Having heard it properly through headphones it sounds absolutely fantastic. The fact that the GT era stuff can be remastered to such a standard just makes it all the more baffling that the EMG stuff sounds so flat in comparison.

Album down to#26 today. I was expecting a bit lower so that's nice to see it there I guess. Not sure how much it sold last week, maybe about 8000 or something? It sold 22000 on the first week to get to #10.
