And it’s over. I guess time will tell but those Steps people seemed confindent - maybe they know. Either way, tremendous achievement for the band to be fighting for number 1s thirty years into their career.

Well done everyone, we might not make it to no.1, but it's been the most cracking thread of the last 10 years (bar one). Can't remember the last time I bought three version of a Manics album!

Woke up this morning and it all felt like some sort of fever dream. What a great few days to be a Manics fan. And it is a great album as well. I am very confident they will be no.1 and I really hope that Wire goes on every radio programme next week to wallow in the victory. Can't wait to get my many versions of the album! Some people will be getting special Christmas presents this year!

Where is that confidence coming from? I’d love them to be number 1 as much as the next person but their lead was cut from 1500 - 330 in 1 day, Steps will easily pick that up.

If I’m wrong I’ll donate my 7 copies of TUVL to anyone who wants them.

Haha, I woke up this morning thinking it was all a dream and then realised it wasn't and then have just been looking at how the album is selling on Amazon and Spotify plays, etc. Single CD is no.1 and 2CD is no.6 as I type, as they were last night. We'll find out later on, but either way it's still a good result for the band and been exciting following everything this week

In fairness, there was a big push yesterday on the Manics side so there is reasonable hope, as the Steps push was the day before. Fingers cross for 16:00 today.

Also keep in mind, fans have probably been buying from independent record stores more than Steps so there's just enough room for optimism.

Will the album chart be announced dead on 4? As is the way with most radio and TV, I'd have thought they'll announce it later in the show. Meaning we'll have to sit through an hour or so of absolute dross lol

But seriously, the show starts at 4 and is primarily the singles chart (whatever that means these days), so be prepared to listen to lots of songs by someone FEATURING someone, and kpop lol

The official chart page says the page will be updated at 5.45pm, so I guess that is when it is announced on the radio show as well.

Completely agree. This time last week my copy hadn’t arrived on release day and I felt a bit flat. Now I have 2 copies, and a third on the way with signed Millennium poster. Wouldn’t have seen that coming last Friday and it’s been so much fun, along with Nicky and James’ messages. Love being a fan of this band
