Sat in O'Neill's until 8:30 or so then wondered over. Still got to the front. You can keep your queue and 'barrier', kids.

Public Service Broadcasting looked interesting, wish I'd got in for the start of that.

A fun gig, a little bit of everything (apart from Lifeblood and GATS )

Would've been nice to hear all of Marlon JD, seemed no one in the crowd had heard of it??

30 Year War needs to be a fully electric song with flanger and space effects - not acoustic guitars!

Revol, nice to see.

Motorcycle Emptiness, bin the casio strings intro.

Could barely hear Richard Hawley's solo in Motown Junk - rookie mixing mistake

Thanks for the setlist updates and photos! Motown Junk with Richard Hawley?! I'm finding that hard to imagine for some reason, seen as the only other song I've ever heard Richard Hawley on is RTF, which couldn't be more of a contrast to Motown Junk

The crowd a little further back were all singing Marlon J.D. Made a nice surprise, but certainly would've been good to hear it in full.

Also good to see Martin Hall on the balcony singing along.

No singing on Motown Junk. Only guitar and with the first guitar solo. James did second

James was really up for this. Never seen him bounce about so much!

Elvis was the top highlight for me. RFD also. Nice changes to the setlist! Revol fantastic also. Loving the extended bit before the solo kicks in

Yeah, he seemed to be getting really stuck in and did (by the looks of things) take a high-fretted squealy solo in the middle, you just couldn't hear it

Yeah, I assumed no singing, but still...just can't imagine him rocking out to Motown Junk

Ah, the one thing people always remember me for is the one thing I never do anymore. I think that makes 'Regards, Marwood' my own personal 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'

Brilliant time. In far, far too much pain to write it up properly right now.

Crowd were bloody insane. It was a fantastic gig and if I'd been safely on the barrier I'd have loved it, but being in the heart of that crowd was really, really hard going. Especially when a group of fat forty-somethings decided to do a ye olde pushing-everyone-over moshpit thing. That's, like, SO 20th century, ya pukes! I hope everyone on the balcony was suitably impressed with my complete refusal to pogo or get pushed forwards. I must have stuck out like a sore thumb. The eye of the storm!

Breach of gig etiquette alert! I queued for three hours (ish), I got two or three rows from the barrier, I stood there right through the rather wonderful PSB and the set up... and then just as the Manics start some great lanky cockhead pushed in front of me and my queue buddies. And then loads of other people did too. Grrr! If you wanna be down the front, put in the time and effort ya jerks. And put yer fucking camera away cos its blocking my view of Nicky, fankooverymuch.

Really nice of Shug to come and say hello when I first arrived at the queue, really good to see Hummingbird again, was lovely to briefly meet magicalbertie (would have liked to have talked more!), and also Nasalscarecrow for about five seconds at the end

Wish I'd met bachelorette! People kept telling me she was there but I never caught sight of her. She is the Mr Snuffleupagus of the forum, clearly.

I ended up queueing and gigging with a nice girl called Lizzie who used to be on FD a million years ago but isn't anymore because you're all so horrible and cliquey (), and a girl from Thailand who is over for the week and hadn't realised her favourite band had a new album or were touring, and had paid £80-odd for a ticket from a tout. Genuine pleasure seeing her experience her first Manics gig!

Ah, Manics fans, you're all so lovely

Decided at last minute to queue earlier than is normally my custom, got there about 12 and got chatting to the delightful Hummingbird which was nice

To my surprise someone from here recognised me and said hello ( wavey poos to Shug !! ) and ArchivesOfRevolLover also said hello which was cool-also lovely to speak briefly to Gina although i suspect she didnt recognise the long haired git skulking about at first !!.

The support was enjoyable with jaunty tunes that went well with the arty visuals.

As for Manics themselves i thought they delivered the goods as per usual, the new songs sat in well along with the oldie fan faves-M.E is my fave set opener and the day it kicks in and i dont feel that glorious rush is the day i
quaff my last shot of scotch with ice and head to the great gig in the sky !!

So-roll on the tour next year if indeed there is one

Love and gravy

RP Mac

Ah, poo. Just remembered Nicky talking about their time at Askew Road. I was going to ask if anybody fancied a little pilgrimage but it slipped my mind in the post-gig confusion. Oh well!

Sorry for not talking longer, Marwood it was nice to meet you!
Nice to meet Hummingbird too and speak to Shug and Sandrine again

I had a spot on the barrier but to the left and it was a bit quieter where I was, not so much jumping about. I left as ADFL started and bumped into StarryKnight at Clapham Junction who had left at the same time so we got the train home together whuch was nice.

Nicky and James were so bouncy, it was lovely

I had a great time today. Lovely to meet so many from this forum - you know who you are!
Waited for a long time to see James afterwards, he was lovely and signed and posed for pictures with everyone there.

To be honest I don't think I missed anything, there's only 14 songs out of the set list I would have wanted to hear but I think it was £36 well saved even though I had to work I may have made it but about 9.15pm

It's a short set list it terms of duration as well. Nice pics

Rewind The Film was a lot better live, and it was great to hear Revol again. Also good taking my bf for his first Manics gig.
