Even Babyshambles played more from their new album at their recent Brixton album preview gig.
And they're crackheads so it probably takes them longer to learn new songs. |

All looks amazing. Festival No.6 should be pretty amazing: http://www.gigwise.com/news/84085/ma...ndons-100-club

I'd take fewer new Manics songs over more new Babyshambles songs. Can't believe they still exist!
I'm sure more RtF songs will appear on tour. |

Wonderful gig! Was right at the front, directly in front of Nicky. He was pretty subdued but managed the odd leap around. It was quite a small stage afterall. Even JDB joked he couldn't do his signature one legged whirl move without destroying the drum kit! Heh
Looking forward to watching the video to relive it all. New songs sounded good. JDB did a good job of singing in a low key for the parts where Richard Hawley would've been singing.

so jealous of anyone who went, tried several times to win but not lucky this time. Have won in the past but my luck seems to have run out

Quote:
By contrast, the SATT tours felt (to me at least) more representative of the album they were meant to be promoting, though looking at the setlists it was five or six SATT songs per night which isn't that much more really. The key difference is that every single track on SATT got a live outing at least once over the course of the two tours, so they were mixing it up a bit more. In fairness to them, they're on their 11th album, and the new songs have to fight for space with everything that's come before. It's probably a lot easier to fill the setlist with new songs when you're on your 4th or 5th album and there isn't so much competiton for space. I also think Nicky makes a fair point about all the different factions in the audience that they need to appease (though I think they could still do that AND have a more interesting selection). Over seven dates, I'll be happy to get as much as half the album this time around. I'll be more interested to see how much they shake up the rest of the set each night, as variation is rarely their strong point.

Only the three singles in the two gigs I went to. Three rubbish singles.

So for those that managed to go, did you just enter a competition and win (and did you enter several times if so), or did someone tip you the wink as has previously been intimated?

Absolutely amazing gig! Especially seeing as I didn't know I was going until a day before! Nicky seemed really subdued though; didn't talk throughout the entire show and left the stage without a word.
Setlist: 1) Elvis Impersonator 2) Motorcycle Emptiness 3) Ocean Spray 4) Show Me The Wonder 5) Anthem For A Lost Cause 6) You Stole The Sun From My Heart 7) No Surface All Feeling 8) Rewind The Film 9) Tsunami 10) If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next --- 11) This Sullen Welsh Heart --- 12) Your Love Alone Is Not Enough 13) Revol 14) It's Not War (Just The End Of Love) - WASN'T PLAYED 15) You Love Us 16) A Design For Life |

Guardian article about the gig. It's frustrating about how more fans could have attended - I have a friend who lives in central London who was gutted she missed out, even though she entered the competition in every way possible. Like the reviews say, a bit of a missed opportunity
