Yeah, I admit that was me, the 'someone' asking the RAH account that question. I've never been to RAH but I was expecting an answer between 500 and 1k based on photos of similar events there. Surely 99 is a typo and should be 990 or similar. SURELY. Or they misread that I was asking about 'arena standing'. Or maybe I've bought the wrong kind of ticket?

eta: I won't truly believe I really got those tickets until my credit card is charged, though.

I asked them if they were sure and they replied saying the capacity is actually 800, so god knows what the other tweet was about, quite possibly the gallery standing as suggested on here. Let's see if there are any more advancements between now and May

Editors are alright actually. At least the most popular songs on spotify... no idea what they're like live. They're reminding me of white lies

800 sounds about right to me, once you make allowances for the sound deck, etc. I am impressed the RAH answer their tweets so promptly.

Thanks for asking again. 800 is in line with my estimate. RAH, you gave me a wildly inaccurate answer and didn't bother to copy me on the correction. Do you hate me for some reason? It's because I'm from the colonies, isn't it?

My guess is they thought they gave the correct answer. Being a classical venue, most concerts at the RAH have seating in the arena, and it's only the gallery which has standing tickets. But, yeah, would be nice if someone from the venue clarified and replied to your question.

Anyone reckon they'll play Ireland? Final exams around uk dates so can't risk it

Standing tickets went away very quickly - I was trying on the ticketmaster since 9:30 but managed to get mine only at 10:00. :O
I only have just noticed on my account that tickets have seat numbers: is it normal for a gig at RAH? never been there

Still no Dublin/Belfast dates. Dunno why, but the Manics always irritate the shit out of me when they do this each and every tour. It makes arranging tickets/dates a total nightmare as there are always 4 of us who go. I'm getting more and more irritated with every passing day

It'll be interesting to see if they do a Dublin/Belfast date. Hopefully they will.

I doubt they'd fill any Irish venue similar in size (e.g. the 3 Arena) to those on the UK tour.

The last few times they've just done the Olympia and the Ulster Hall.

Dublin doesn't have a "mid-size" venue to speak of and the one in Cork which they started talking about building when I was in my twenties will probably open when I'm in my forties.

We have a thing here every year called "Live At The Marquee" which is a series of events in a big tent during June/July. They might sell that out.

Although..... it's made up of 10% music fans and 90% "event junkies" who spend more time with their backs to the stage, taking selfies and going to the bar than anything else.

Is the RDS not a mid sized arena? Or is it the 02 now? Not sure but it would probably suit their needs.

I think they could fill The Point with an EMG show. However, it's more likely they'll do a warm up show in either the Olympia or the Ulster Hall (hopefully both).

Either way I wasn't taking any chances and booked Glasgow.
