did sandinista by the clash even have anywhere near 70 tracks? it was a sprawling, insane triple album. but great? not by a long chalk.
take note. edit: nope it had a mere 36. i should have checked that first.

Again, I really hope they go through with it. They may look back & cringe at Know Your Enemy, but imagine if that wasn't released & Lifeblood followed Truth?!

As far as I'm concerned, 70 tracks is insane. Standards would slip at various points. I can only listen to a few songs on The White Album. I think I've only actually properly listened to it all the way through a handful of times. It's just too much.

I'll believe it when I see it but I'm glad they're going to be doing music they want to do. Looks like they forgot about this '2 versions of the band' nonsense pretty quickly, good.

To me '70 Songs of Hatred & Failure' is just a title, a metaphor if you will. I doubt Sony would issue a 70 track record in these times as they wouldn't be able to sell it! Especially after the PFAYM Momento Boxset Special price!

We all know how to take Nicky's pre-album statements... But I think their wish to indulge is genuine, and (whatever the number of tracks on the album) this can only be a good sign!
