Aw I miss giving a shit about the charts, used to follow em like I do football. The Masses Against The Classes getting to number one was the equivalent of Brian Clough winning the European Cup with Forest - probably shouldn't have happened. Some Kind Of Nothingness was the equivalent of Newcastle's relegation in 2009, should've done better.

The campaign has been handled well. Previous ones have focused on preorders and as soon as the album comes out there's nothing. This one has legs. A BBC session featured on the Red Button last week, Jools the week before.

And it would carry on that way if the second single wasn't so shit.

Reckon with a few additional new dates between now and Christmas and it could carry on doing well. The small venues were brilliant ans some festive gigs could be a nice link to the next album if they played a couple of new tracks too.

Not a lot! maybe when Anthem comes out it might get a new lease of life, did it work for PFAYM when they released the 2nd and 3rd single?

I don't think anyone off of this forum was aware that there WAS a 3rd single, tbh! And apart from sad compulsive collectors like myself, I doubt anyone bought the Postcards single. It was more of a nail in the coffin - the band dropped the album tracks and 3rd single for the following tour!

And to taunt the Manics, reality has ordered around to tease it with the massive selling Adele and to humiliate by showing them above Stereophonics at least, but even that albums in double figures in weeks!

Record Store chart you have failed me. I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE

92 in amazon's best sellers and 10 in their indie

but we don't care about the charts do we? DO WE?

The Phonics album only left the top 100 I think since it was released in March

Oh yes, what I meant was that Postcards sank like a lead submarine filled with concrete and Joe Public missed out on it completely!
