Fuck me....after 4 pints of Strongbow and continuous play today The album and especially the title track is fucking amazing...absolute melancholic warmth and cwtchiness, the ending of the Title track is enough to move me to tears...Bollocks to everyone who thinks it's shite...i've loved this band since the Jackie Brambles session at maida vale when I was working in a fucking Knickers factory in Port Talbot.
I'm open to almost all kinds of music, but huge grandoise string fills make my day, quite simply the best shit they've done since Everything must Go...Glad I've bought the deluxe box thinghy, Bradders needs my cash to produce another album just like this.

I was singing it every time I was out walking today. You know, when you think there's no one there so you start singing it under your breath and then quickly stop when someone comes around the corner who was walking deliberately quietly and has clearly heard you and thinks you're insane...

Or something like that. Yeah, it's a winner!

Well, listening to SKON once again it starts to reveal itself. It's actually very good.

Repeated listens to Some kind of nothingness and All we make is entertainment, has me in a state of complete delirium....Again the endings to both are a complete coup de grâce.

There's a 3rd and 5th Harmony in the backing Vox that make it really full. Great song.

Still not enjoying SKON as much as I should really. Really in love with Golden Platitudes, as I said in the GP thread. Strings towards the end remind me of Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders by Oasis - fucking great song that.

PFAYM is a fucking stunning song, by far my favourite on the album (the ending does it for me) although 3 or 4 others are fucking superb (Auto Intoxication/Hazleton Avenue/Billion Balconies and Don't Be Evil), can't really separate them.

I've listened to the new disc about 6 times (including the YouTube version of 'Postcards' - will need to wait til October til my CD arrives). Except for 'The Future Has Been Here 4Ever - which is still 'growing' on me), I like it more each time. The title track is fantastic.

I haven't listened to that song for years! *trawls through every Oasis B-Side ever* It's amazing.

The bits of that song that is truly magic (apart from the end) are the post-chorus parts of *stringstringsstringsstrings DUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUMDUM!* Blissful. It's a fuck-off beautiful song, draws with SKON as favourite right now. It kinda sounds like a rocked-up Indian Summer.

Don't Be Evil's chorus gets better with every listen.

I love the epic intro of PFAYM, but a little bit less would have been more here.

I'm really quite liking the album now. Every song has a 'but' attached to it still, hopefully they'll disappear soon.
