let's face it the venue is going to be the closest you'll get to the band while they're onstage. they'll be able to see you all face by face hehe

This pic gives you an indication of how close to the stage you are (I may or may not be the one on the front row with my camera held up ):

Yeah cos they never play glasgow normally!

not necessarily if you're in the front row what about gigs without barriers (and then you don't get photographers in the way either) like take Newcastle 2005 or the Heavenly thing or half the US tour or if you want to include solos Wire at Stay Beautiful or (sort of) Hay or James the night before he played King Tuts in Manchester and I think Newbridge and one other on the later tour.

Also surely they are only playing a gig cos its King Tuts 20th birthday and they love the venue (first hot meal etc.) and King Tuts is in Glasgow and so they have to play Glasgow - most one off gigs are where they are for a reason its not hardly like they are intentionally snubbing any part of the country

yup and they didnt have to agree to play at all. I think some are forgetting this is for a specific event. It's not just an ordinary manics gig

Yeah.

I don't think we Scottish can complain about the gigging patterns too much. I've been to every non-festival gig in this country since TIMTTMY and while the majority have been in Glasgow there have been a good few in Edinburgh and even one in Aberdeen! And James in Dundee

Oh I missed the Renfrew Ferry gig too but that was ridiculously hard to get tickets for!!!!

Meh. I made one comment about london and only keep replying to other people who seem to think glasgow deserve it.
