I've entered, but I know I won't win. I never win anything

Well done.

And what do you mean, 'can't go'?

Manics small gig in Blackwood, or work? Hmmm, let me think about that one. It will mean a bit of bribery probably, but I reckon I can get a colleague to sub for me if necessary.

The last thing I won was two tickets to see Gordon Giltrap in Liverpool in 1981, I couldn't go because my boyfriend hadn't got round to insuring his motorbike so we had no way of getting there.

I've entered. I won a Doctor Who video from a local paper in 1992, and have never had any good luck since, so I do not hold out much hope

Also I applied for two tickets, thinking that if I won I'd be able to offer one to a fellow FDer, but now I'm thinking I've just damaged my chances or something

Regards,
Marwood.

Aw, I'd love to go, but I cant! So no point in entering, will deny someone else of a chance.

Whiley said 'pairs of tickets', I think it's acceptable to apply for two.

Who do people enter if they aren't bothered about going?

I presume it's one of those situations where you just don't want to get your hopes up too much. I'm not going to get ridiculously excited about the prospect of going unless I happen to win.

Ah ok, that's fair enough then. Just never really got it before. I'd like to go....but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Oh, I know I just meant that presumably when they're allocating a very limited number of tickets, whether you need one or two could become the deciding factor, y'know, "ooh look ducky, we've got three left, so we'll give two to that relic, and this Marwood needs two also so he'll miss out and we'll give the last one to astrogirl" um, type thing.

Regards,
Marwood.

It's on my birthday so would be brilliant if I won.

I'd even be prepared to stand next to a Dr Who fan if it meant I got a ticket

It's the internet, unfortunately nearly everyone has a kind of jaded attitude. It's beginning to bug me of late, and not just here, but other places online too. It's starting to spoil my enjoyment of stuff as well.

I know a lot of people will be entering this, even if it is weighted in my favour geographically, it's still a slim chance. If I get to go - GREAT, it'll be a first for me, seeing one of my favourite bands twice in one year (a first for me with Manics gigs), and it's a homecoming for them as well! If I don't win, I don't. But someone's got to, why shouldn't it be me?

Oops, I seem to have applied for 1 ticket but I didn't even notice there was a choice. Maybe Marwood's theory will work for me...

Competition said pairs of tickets..most people dont go to events on their own so comps reflect that no? Would be weird if they were allocating single tickets

Really happy that it is having 70% of fans from the local area, as much as equal oppertunities should apply free gigs or charity gigs should give local people more than a fair shake to see a band in a special enviroment as opposed to hardcore fans who will more than likely have seen the band umph load of times. Not insulting anyone by the term hardcore fans, I mean I include myself in that column for the Manics.
