When I mentioned May I asked about new songs, he said yes and asked me what I'd want to hear. I said something like 'songs which best convey that feeling of hatred and failure' and he said, 'Ooh Archives of Pain? Of Walking Abortion? Comfort Comes? Ahh, Sculpture of Man!?' He seemed well up for it.

I heard that, but didn't hear what you had said and could only remember James mentioning "Comfort Comes". I remember him seeming enthusiastic about it. I'd be up for that too!

I am still holding out for this email rumour from Ents24, Al Pal, Earls Crt, Wembley and o2 being mentioned as ticket price planned, which means about £30 + £3 booking/postage etc... ...but it will probably only be 1 venue of the mentioned above in London.

Can't really ask her as someone has left the Events side of the Charity to work for her, so it would feel uncomfortable lol.

Bit of a rumour from her, Status Quo at Reading this year too!!!

Fuck I'd love to hear Comfort Comes live. I really really hope they have an Irish date on this May tour. Probably no hope of a Belfast one, but they may have a Dublin one I'd assume. I'm really dying to see them again....

I was surprised how up for it he seemed too, he usually hates song requests, I was surprised he even asked me what sort I wanted. He said yes to new songs too as they are recording stuff in April apparently.

Can't imagine they could remotely fill the last three, they aren't an arena band anymore. Will believe it if I see it.

Probably more of a chance of them doing one of the festivals, which is shame, as all we'll get is a short hits set. I won't be going to Oxegen or whatever, unless they announce at least 5 acts i really want to see and the line-up so far is shocking.

EDIT: Thank God i was wrong. No Irish festival in May that i know of

Comfort Comes was one of the songs they used to promote the Lipstick Traces events, I wouldn't be surprised if they dusted it off again.

Archives of Pain and Die In The Summertime again sounds promising, I love DiTS.

I love it when they play new songs as the audience go really quiet... which probably adds to their tension!

Archives of Pain as long as there are no "acoustic" sections

Awww bless him, that issurprising that he did do that. It's a great idea, because at least it would give the band an idea of what the fans would like to hear and it would keep the setlists fresh...................and hopefully stop FDers moaning about the setlists! Nah, that'll never happen!

I loved the version they played of this on the PPF tour. James spoke the intro, played the first part by himself, then the rest of the band returned to the stage and joined in to finish the song.
