Really worried I won't be able to make the Manchester gig due to lack of funds/University commitments around that period. But surely they'll do another tour not long afterwards, when the second album has been released. Six dates is suspiciously short for a Manics tour, usually they're playing every nook and cranny in the country!

I'm pretty confident there will be more gigs early next year to coincide with the next album, hence why I'm not going too mad with these dates (even though I would be seeing them three times in a month including Festival No. 6, but that's quite tame by my previous standards ).

Yeah, I reckon this is a smaller tour for the acoustic album and there'll definitely be a bigger tour for the rawk one. Fitting outings for each effort.

That's a relief. That said, The Ritz is a pretty good venue and smaller than where they usually play, so can imagine the Manics being brilliant in a venue of that size.

I imagine it won't be too pricey if they're playing venues of this calibre.

I think I'm going to aim for every date on this tour, assuming the tickets don't sell out in seconds. Feels like it could be something special. And in any case, IT'S THE MANICS. Not sure about Dublin though, cos it's on the other side of some water and I'd have no idea how to deal with that.

The tracklisting is really interesting... some of them sound so un-Manics-like. There's a growing sense of freshness and a new direction here, I think. On the flipside there's things like (I Miss The) Tokyo Skyline, which couldn't be more Manics-y if they tried...

High point of this thread, I think

Disc 1 is the normal album

Disc 2 appears to be the demo's of all the songs, as well as Design For Life, Empty Souls, It's Not War and From Despair To Where from the o2 Arena in 2011 (I think i'm most excited about being able to hear a proper recording of ADFL from the o2 to be honest haha)
Jaw dropped when I saw Empty Souls on there. Yay for some Lifeblood respect!

Didn't someone on the forum predict that song title for their next album?

Or they might be on the other album?

I was looking forward to that. I'd have definitely scraped something together to see them there again.

Maybe Manchester, depending on when the tickets go on sale. I might wait for another tour announcement, that looks far too short to me and they've still got another album to promote people are avoiding Sheffield at the minute though for some reason, but Manics have played there a few times now. U'm already seeing them in September anyway. Bah, I don't know.

Really 3want to go to the Manchester gig. Will have to make sure can work it round work commitments. Cant believe its such a tiny venue though. Could be amazing if its just the acoustic tracks though, so the new album and acoustic versions of other favourite tracks.

Bit surprised no one's talking about the song...!

Anyway, it's definitely something that could've been on Love's Forever Changes album

The last few gigs the Manics have done in Manchester have been at the Apollo (3500) and if this is only a warm up tour then the Ritz (1500) is actually quite a big venue for them to pick. If they wanted something really small they should go for the Deaf Institute (500) or the Roadhouse (200) or the back of Dry Bar (30).
