This was phenomenal even though I have the worst cold ever known. I have completely lost my voice but well worth it. Good crowd, James in top spirits, obviously loving it. Sean looking fabulous. Impromptu gargantuan FMF meetup afterwards.

Well done. I probably could not manage to do anything else after a Wire dedication!

Just woken up, still buzzing after last night. The crowd was amazing, the band commented on it several times actually including Wire who said it was even better than a Welsh crowd! Praise indeed cos the Newport gigs I've been to over the years have been brilliant.

Sleepflower, Revol, Elvis, Ready For Drowning, Kevin Carter... It was all great. I do like the more varied setlist, no Little Baby Nothing for the first time in years. And the Ritz, what a place! Bouncy floor, compact but bloody hot!

The band really seemed invigorated after their break since Postcards, and despite the slower songs the gig seemed to hurtle by. Of the new ones, 30 Year War and Holy As The Soil were the best for me. James' voice on the latter was amazing.

Lovely mention for @manicstmania too by Wire. John, you remember we met at that Sheffield Library JDB session? Well I think I saw you by the tour bus but couldn't be sure it was you so I chickened out of saying hello (if it was you). Sounds like you enjoyed your mention though!

Final thought. I took my 19 year old nephew. I'm 37 now and first saw MSP just after he was born. He loved it. The Manics are still relevant.

Sean's leopard print top.
Nicky's singing.
James's hair

I will never, to my dying day, forget this gig. It's so good to be back. Thank you Manics, for being the best band in the world, ever.

Slatex, thank you for the setlist, the shout out was well deserved, and I did a little squee for you when Nicky made it.

Just the best night at a Manics gg ever for me. They were amazing and kept looking at the crowd and grinning Sean in his leopards print T, Nicky singing sold and a bass solo slot, James amazing as ever, his acoustic break with the crowd was just beautiful.
For me that has got to be my best gig and will live in my heart for ever. Couldn't sleep for re living bits, the crowd singing along was unbelievable and I just hope the boys enjoyed it as much as the crowd loved it x

Wow I feel battered, and I was in probably the gentlest section of the crowd! There's something about Manchester, it was easily the best date on the Postcards tour and this was just as immense, don't think I've heard a manics crowd sing every word and clap along to everything. Great setlist and great pirouetting from Bradders
