Barrier again despite that fucking 02 priority queue bollocks.
Shepherds bush is a bit of a shitty venue. The stage is way too low and the obligatory photographers during the first 3 tracks got in the way. There was no attempt by them to crouch down to take their photos. Once they fucked off i loved every minute of it. My favourite bits: Richard Hawley turning up, he looked SO cool. Wasn't expecting Motown junk aswell 4 FOUR! acoustic songs. We'll need to thank whoever shouted for tokyo skyline at bristol for that staying in! Nicky dressed as a milkman Marlon JD and As holy as the soil REVOL It's not war sounded great to my ears, you stole the sun is always loads of fun, you love us for shouty pointy Queueing was fun if a bit uncomfortable sat on concrete. RP Mcmurphy thank you for being my queue buddy and for offering to save me a spot on the barrier if 02 priority scuppered my chances I thought about waiting for them to come out but i felt too shattered in the end. When i got home i made my self some tea and toast and fell asleep in front of the telly I'M TOO OLD Thanks again to everyone i spoke to for being lovely and friendly and offering to buy me coffee over the last two days. Marwood you really need to do the meet the band thing. DON'T BE SCARED |

I don't think Nicky likes me anyway. He was giving me proper glares last night. That might have been because whenever he looked in my direction I was on my phone tweeting MSM instead of watching them though. Plus, I'd want to give him a proper girlie hug and he'd probably be all awkward about it just because we both have penises, and I'd say something intense and scary and he'd set James on me or something. So... no

When I said I will drag you and Ulrike next tour I meant it. (Even I thought you were a girl and easier to drag, but will try my best). |

Wish I was! I was the mentally deranged-looking lurker who started the balconies queue, and I'm short and know how to fade into the pavement. Yesterday was a really bad day for me, so I don't have the heart to write up a gig review - most has already been mentioned anyway. Whoever said this was an average gig, though - were you at the same venue?? We got half of Marlon JD (Wire voice sounded wonderful on this and As Holy), 3 1/2 acoustic songs and Richard Hawley doing an inaudible solo on Motown Junk. What more do you need, dancing elephants!?

If he was in the mood he was about 14 years ago, he may have said "There's a guy looking at his mobile phone down the front who wants to fuck off home. Go on, fuck off you prick!"

Amazing gig, the band were really up for it! James just couldn't stay still and Nicky seemed to be having a great time, too. I was pretty happy with the setlist, apart from the 1-2 punch of It's Not War and YSTS. The extended solo set from James was lovely, really good sing along to The Everlasting and TSWH is beautiful and haunting (nice snippet of Tokyo Skyline as well). I was so glad they played 30 year War, though we weren't going to get it after they did As Holy As the Soil earlier in the set, but I guess that was the 4 Lonely Roads slot. Was very please that Hawley came on for Rewind the Film, I can imagine it's not quite as good with James singing all of it.
Revol also sounded great, time for that Holy Bible gig, lads

A Bible vs Plague Lovers gig would be pretty special.

Oh god I ache. I've been lost in post gig blues and been counting my bruises. I was so squished against the barrier that in 9 months I'm sure to give birth to a load of little fences that will one day dream of being barriers.
