Tees were £25
Hoodie £45
Tote bag £12
Mug (I think) £12 or £15

I wanted to get one of everything, but the prices were off-putting and the queue even more so. I'll do it later in the tour though.

I didn't wait after the last two Newport shows, but I did wait futility after the last Cardiff show. James did apologise for swearing as there were family members there, so I thought not to wait.

I will stay after Bristol and have just about managed to sneak away from work on Monday for the Cardiff signing.

i was there tonight, pretty special.
i dont post that often but tonight had some resonance.
the last time I actually saw the manics live was christmas 1996, at which time my eldest son was amere foetus in my wifes womb. Yesterday he enrolled in Cross Keys college, the same place that James Dean Bradfield and myself shared a classroom in 1989.
Tempus does as they say fugit.

That was quick - thanks.

Not by any means a classic setlist. I'm hoping for a more lively show by the time they get to Manchester....

Hmmmm, apart from the new LP material, can't say that set list has moved me at all.............. Very short gig by the looks of it.

So disappointed with the setlist. They just swapped the songs they have been playing at the start with the songs they normally play at the end. Yawn. I think my prediction that I won't go to a Manics gig again after going to the NT gig might just come true.

The gig last night was mind-blowing! Was my 6th time seeing the Manics and they just get better and better. Highlights of the night for me were Revol and Nicky's little acoustic rendition of Golden Platitudes Fantastic gig! Looking forward to the signing on monday now

Oh another highlight was James' solo of This Sullen Welsh Heart, absolutely beautiful

I really enjoyed it. The setlist was at least A BIT different, I hadn't heard Elvis Impersonator for a long time and had only heard Revol once before at the O2...and not to mention the new songs. I can't say I was expecting them to do a completely different setlist full of curios tbh, that's just not their style. It was a bit of a shorter set than usual and they didn't come on until about 9:20pm, which I think is the latest I've ever seen them start at gigs I've been to. Not sure if that's because it was the first date of the tour and they're easing back into it, not to mention RTF lasts around 6 minutes.

As for the new songs, loved This Sullen Welsh Heart; James did a great job changing the pitch of his voice when singing Lucy Rose's parts. Show Me The Wonder sounded good with the live brass; I was a bit worried they'd just use a backing track like they did at Hyde Park, but it sounded much better live. Rewind The Film sounded amazing live and it was cool to have Richard Hawley there. Him and James have got such a bromance going on; they shared a big hug after the song and James kissed him on the shoulder Anthem For A Lost Cause and Holy As The Soil sounded good too, although the paper setlist had '30 Year War/Holy As The Soil' on it and tbh I'd rather have heard 30 Year War, but never mind.

I know people are bored of acoustic Everlasting, but it was actually a nice moment when the whole crowd were singing back to James and it felt like a confirmation to him that we were all glad to see the band back on stage again after the break. James seemed very appreciative of the crowd in general actually.

So yes, overall I had a good night and it was nice to see them again, the O2 gig seems SO long ago now. It didn't feel like I was seeing them until they actually came on stage. James was in good spirits and was doing his usual hoppy/pirouetting thing (and some weird squats just before You Stole The Sun, which I think was an indication for people to jump ). It was funny when he swore before apologising to his family who were watching. Also can't believe he kept his jacket on for the entire gig! He must have been boiling by the end (oh and pretty sure he had his usual black top underneath...clearly wearing stripes was a one-off experiment at Hyde Park). Nicky seemed much chattier than was reported at Hyde Park and the 100 Club gig. Loved the bit where he was saying how he totally fucked up Revol at the London gig and James gave him one of 'those' looks, but he didn't know why, because James fucked it up even more than he did.

I was on the barrier directly in front of James in the middle and I'd say the crowd were lively, but it definitely wasn't the roughest I've experienced by a long way. Also had to laugh at the guy behind the people next to me going mental for Ocean Spray. I mean, really?

I'll post some photos when I get home on Tuesday, for now have a photo of the setlist (sorry if it's a bit big, I'm on my iPhone):

I must have been right next to you! I was smack bang in front of James as well. So much so that I got a little fleck of his sweat on my face And yes, there was someone behind us that was going mental. I think he was drunk and was generally causing a nuisance of himself. He was all elbows and unnecessary shoving.

Have to echo Abstract's sentiments on the new material. Also great to meet a few FDers (I've forgotten several usernames, but you know who you are).
