I think most of these doubles would go together fairly well thematically, with the jarring exception of JFPL & PFAYM. But would it be any more jarring than when they did JFPL followed by a greatest hits set of absolute bangers?

Made a list of contrasting doubles before discarding it. I think I'd prefer it if the band went with their usual disdain for tracklists and either interlaced two albums every night or spread out the tracks of each album across the entire run of shows. Would love to go to a bunch of gigs where I didn't know the setlist and guaranteed to hear songs never heard before but also have the bittersweet feeling of missing out for shows I didn't go to. It would make each gig a bit more exciting and allow for more interesting dynamics like The Intense Humming of Evil transitioning into You Stole the Sun into Emily into Repeat.

For album performance clashes, any Divine Comedy fans here?
They did ten albums in five nights a few years back, one residency in London and one in Paris. Third night was the very grand and bombastic Fin de Siècle followed by the experimental and sometimes miserable Regeneration. Personally loved every second but it was a bit of a clash of vibes. Suppose it wouldn't be a million miles away from EMG followed by TIMTTMY, mind you. |

What irks me is that it's a 2 paragraph review and only half a paragraph is given to talking about the album itself
